2019 Salsa Horsethief bike (Carbon, Large), £2000

I'm selling my Horsethief, bought from here . Current pictures on Google Photos . My head is so much less capable that this bike on technical ground and the only times I do not feel over biked I'm not enjoying it either at the time nor afterwards. Bike works well for bikepacking with the included Sa...

Re: Jacket Hood Tidy / strap

If I roll the hood up it unrolls itself so I have been tucking it down my back but found it not the most comfortable. Off to play with some Velcro strip

Jacket Hood Tidy / strap

I’ve recently bought a Gore Lupra jacket which I’m really pleased with except that the hood doesn’t have any sort of strap to keep it rolled up so deploys as an air brake behind me when not on my head. Mrs S has a Montane jacket that has a rubber keeper on the hood elastic at the back of the head th...

Re: WTD: Rigid steel disc MTB/frameset/frame, large, for commuter

I have a genesis fortitude adventure 19” frame & fork, BUT the seat post is rusted in and my effort to remove it left a stump which will have to be etched out. It’s a job I’m unlikely to ever realistically get round to and would be happy to give away. Also crankset, Alfine 11 rear wheel, SP dyna...

Re: 200 / 300 events

Group start on the Peak 200 would be good. Wrong side of the peaks for you I know but there is plenty of on the side of the road parking just up from the Fox House and there’s the NT Longshaw Cafe 5 minutes from that. Other option might be parking in Lodgemoor on the edge of Sheffield then it’s 10 m...

Re: Which suspension seatpost? Experiences/Recommendations

I’ve used various suspension posts: PNW coast suspension dropper: Feels like it only really works for big hits and does less taking the trail buzz compared to redshift or thudbuster type designs. It’s also noticeable that the movement is up and down rather than moving in an arc like the redshift or ...

Re: What bars...?

I’ve found Thumb over grips helped to give an alternative hand position that helped avoid numbness. My eBay copies broke pretty quickly and I’m now using the SQLabs inner bar ends which I think are even better since it rotates your wrist in a similar way to a drop bar

West Sheffield mid week evening ride?

I’ve moved to Fulwood recently and would like to get out of an evening midweek- some company would make me much more likely to do so! Anyone interested or can suggest groups who I might be able to tag along with?

Columbia Outdry Nanolites are less than half price at the moment, I've fancied one for a while but didn't want to pay full price for one, they were reduced to £150 then had another 10% off at the weekend so I bought one, today they're even cheaper at £125 https://www.columbiasportswear.co.uk/p/mens...

Re: Whats the pick of the 29er rims at the moment?

For Light Bicycle ask them to quote TPD, much cheaper than paying for postage and then import duties even if I’m not sure quite how it’s cheaper

Re: Automatic Crash Reporting

On the Edge 530 I thought the crash detection only worked in road bike mode and is turned off in mountain bike mode. I have a forerunner watch that has the incident detection when mountain biking. It will trigger on steep / fast / rocky downhills that require me to stop to open a gate. It’s almost b...
