Re: Reynaulds sufferers

Hi. I have a small amount of frostbite damage on some fingers. Pogies all the way. Carbon bars not alloy. Think about your grips, silicone foam ones inuslate better. Softshell gloves are fine for me inside the pogies at -18C. Feet, bigger than normal shoes, size up socks if layering. Beware of neopr...

Re: NorthPeak100 or Peaks200 winter attempt anyone??

This coming week would be good for a winter ride! Will be quick in some parts, may be a bit to much snow in others. Definitely on my to do list. But not in the right place at the moment. Think it would be quite pleasureable theres a few shops open, enough to get topped up. I will do some of it this ...

Re: North by North West Parts 1 and 2, Audax meets bikepacking.

It's on the radar, but trying to do SR and trying to fit in Moors and Wolds 400 begining of May and 9 Counties 600 begining of June. Plus the family bit.
I think doing NbyNW and then 600km 2 weeks later is achievable and forget the 400

Super job, keep it up.
The inspiration worked, did the Winter Solstice 200 on Dec 22nd, very steady 8.30 moving time just under 10 overall. I convinced some friends to do it as well. So a big Christmas thank you!
Targets are being set ;)

Re: Tell me about budget turbo trainers.

We have had a number of variants all dumb including rollers. Tacx Satori which we didn't get on with, feel and power just didn't feel right. Powerops Fluid, great, much quiter than Satori but went bang (really) son is a hill climb specialist with silly power outputs and the turbo didn't like it. Rep...

Re: Diary of a Randonneur

Excellent Composite. A big challenge and inspiring, your giving me some confidence to get out there and give it a go. I am happy to do 250 plus km on the mtb but that as an audax is making me nervous, bloody strange chimp.

Good luck and look forward to reading more.

As Andy has said, pretty obvious on the floor. Fitz's gpx is also correct if you follow that.

Stu and Mark,

If its the same fitting as a BOB trailer, you can get various through axle conversions from 'The Robert Axle Project'. You can also get axles for use on turbo's for those of that bent.

Re: North Devon this weekend

Beware the Trifids! I did the full ride 21st/22nd in 25hrs. Lots of nice green lush growth with most of the brambles crossing the tracks just where they manage to slid into the bend of the elbow and across your neck. I wore my windproof overnight and have had to wash it twice to get rid of the blood...

Squirt and MSW here in the Peak. I do like Pro Gold but more expensive and have plenty of stock of the others, around 10 chains on the go, so a bit of a production line when re applying.
