Re: Cairngorm outer loop
House of Bruar (The Harrods of the Highlands!) used to do a good bacon butty & coffee, it's worth a look-in when passing if you've not been before.. The Pine Martin also used to do a good breckie, although not sure how things are there after the change of owner? If i was riding from Blair Athol ...

Re: Cairngorm outer loop
The Inner Loop from Feshie Bridge through the forest to Glenmore is one of the best sections!
After Ryvoan bothy drop down & cross the river then join the outer loop before Tomintoul..

Re: Small tubeless setup/DIY compressor
I think most air compressors come with a schrader fitting for inflating car tyres, I carry one of these around in my toolkit & have also used it with an air compressor for seating tubeless. The airflow isn’t idea, but it’s worked & it’s cheap as chips 👍 https://www.cycleking.co.uk/pumps/pgr/...

Hi Hux, I think there’s a bit that cuts from the inner loop after Ryvoan, across a river, then onto the outer?

Healing vibes James, sounds like things could have been a lot worse 🙏 You’re the 3rd person in the last couple of months that I’ve heard a similar story. Both the others weren’t cyclists, but they were relatively fit & healthy. One was told whilst receiving treatment in hospital that they’d been...

Hi Wotsits, can I ask what temp you’re comfortable down to with the 250? And whether that’s with or without a an insulated jacket on. Thanks in advance Another vote for Cumulus here, lots of custom options & I’ve found their quality to be really good. Got a custom 150 & 250, both made sligh...

I'm sure there'll be a few grumbles, but after reeling the French rider back-in after puncturing he well deserved the win..

Re: 1x12 road/gravel eGears
When i looked at it i came to the conclusion that i'd be limited by what size cassette my current derailleur set-up would go up to, & cause i was told that with di2 you can't mix groupsets, i'd have to swap it all out for GRX.. Agree that di2 is lovely, but the components aren't cheap, especiall...

Would it need a front derailleur fitted to work?
I’m interested myself as have a road orientated di2 that I’d like to set-up better for off-road use..

Re: A perplexing issue with gears
Sounds like the outer needs changing.. For internal routing there’s a tool you use for joining the old & new outers & pulling the new one through. It’s something like this- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285784654657?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338749377...

Re: Carbon fork with straight steerer and 3" tyre clearance - does such a thing exist?
Can't see you needing 3" for TNR. Climbing gears, 2.1's and GOOD brakes. You'll have a blast. Apologies if you've ridden the route before Dave, but this^ I think the balance of the route is towards the amount of climbing, on both road & gravel. IMHO Something tubeless, robust, fast-rolling...

Hi Josh & welcome to the forum :-bd There’s lots of options, it all depends on what sort of thing you want to do & if you want to ride from home or are willing to travel. One of the easiest 2 day options from Wigan would be to head over to Formby Beach Woods. Easy non-technical riding over t...
