Re: Recommend me a quilt
Another vote for Cumulus here, lots of custom options & I’ve found their quality to be really good. Got a custom 150 & 250, both made slightly bigger than standard & the 250 with 900 down, quantum pro outer. The zipped footbox means they can both open out flat & square & be used ...

Re: If you could recommend 1 gravel route - what would it be?
I thought the Tour of the Cotswolds was a great route & very gravel-bike friendly. Lots to see, great places to eat & drink & didn’t struggle for places to wild camp..

Re: Montanas Vacias group ride
I attempted and failed to ride this starting easter Friday. The worst rain the region had at that time in years, 4-6 degrees in the day low down, incessant rain/wind, claggy mud. Even the gravel was so saturated, it was like riding on wet sand. Got rained on, got a hotel, called it, got rained on c...

Re: 10th successive Tuscany Trail :)
That sounds great Gairy, I’ve often thought about how the route had changed over the years & what would make the ‘best’ route. You must easily be the best qualified! The year we went through the higher ground, I bet would be great without all the mud! Really interested to see your route & bu...

Thanks everyone
I think I’ll put another set of protectors on, might even try some of the ‘glass type’..

Garmin Screen Protector, do you still bother?
The screen protetctors on my 830 & Oregon 600/700 are looking a bit tired, & instead of replacing them i was wondering if i should even bother. I know the older Garmins needed doing in order to prevent scratches over time causing the screen to look, 'cloudy'. But does anyone know if the scre...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
Many years ago we took the kids to Greenwich and part of the journey was by River Bus from Charing Cross. From there down river we pootled along at about 1 or 2mph, sorry knots, or something, a bit like a floating brick, pointing out all the sights etc. Kids not all that impressed. Then just after ...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
That looks like a proper good trip V :-bd I really enjoy exploring the smoke by bike & do similar myself if i’m down there visiting family & friends, with the odd rave thrown-in. If you go again try swapping banks at St Paul’s, then heading through the city, Spitalfields & East London. A...

This might be stretching the bargain thing, but instead of selling both kidneys, one might do. There’s some offers on Oakley's, including their prescription lenses, the best being 25% off till the end of March-
