I'd been following his dot. Even though he's got previous with the TD, that is some achievement.

A big easy Cairngorms loop?
I've a pal who's wanting to do a big ride in the Cairngorms with friends, some of whom will be on gravel bikes.
I suggested the outer loop of the classic CG loop.
Any improvements on that?

I've done a good few miles fixed off-road over the years. That gearing, narrow tyres and no suspension.voodoo_simon wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 11:12 am And then there’s this person riding this fixed gear bike. Great to see

WTD: Post mount road hydraulic brakes and shifters
New project requires some road hydraulic brakes and levers.
A pair of TRP Hylex would be lush.
Post mount.
Shimano or Sram otherwise.
For a singlespeed so shifters don't need to work!

My tips. Find a track that is technically easy to ride up. A decent consistent surface would be good. Don't underestimate the descents.
Good luck

Re: The post man's been ...
After many years of searching, I am now the proud owner of a Zpacks Hexamid Solo and bathtub floor. From the date on the label, it looks like it was one of the last made before the model was discontinued. A little less room than the Lunar Solo, but a similar vibe. Saves about 300 grams. https://i.im...

Which F+F? - - - 135mm 700c Disc brake
I'm looking for a project frame and fork to be built around a 700c White Industries ENO eccentric wheel.
Has to have 135mm QR dropout and disc brake mounts. Something lightweight and steel ideally.
Any suggestions on which models to look for?
Thanks

I was all set and ready for it—albeit completing rather than competing—but am now in a race against time to be fit, having had a big off last week. I think my body'll be ok given a few more days, but my face is a right mess and I'm currently on a liquid/chocolate milk diet as it's too painful to ea...

Re: Tent peg strategy
I try and carry a mix of pegs. 4 wide Ti channels, a couple of long Al Stakes, 2 Ti nails and, 4 carbon pegs. The theory being that at least some of them will make bomber anchors. eg. 3 solid pegs will hold up a Lunar Solo. I heard something recently about a guy who had a geodesic tent that was doin...
