Re: What GPS unit to get?
As an alternative to the Garmin suggestions, I use a SatMap Active 10, it's the old model, I think they are on the Active 20 now. I've got 1:25K and 1:50K OS maps, one set of AA lithium batteries lasts about 16 hours using battery saver mode. Big screen makes it easy to navigate, and you can re-plot...

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020
Well I had fun doing the lite version down here on Friday and Saturday. Thanks Landslide for the GRs, made for an interesting combination of old routes, and some new places I'd not ridden before. Out early on my own on Friday morning, but the kids wanted to join in, so we all camped in the garden to...

I hadn't signed up for WRT this year, but this sounds like a great idea. Anyone looking for someone to partner up with to pick GRs? I'm in Haslemere, Surrey

I was looking at riding the downs link with the family two weeks ago, there was mention of a section being closed on the website, but not much detail, so I emailed them, here’s the response I got - “I have been informed by the Rights of Way officer that the closure remains in place along the DownsLi...

The number of entries might not be going up, but are you getting new people entering, or is it the same faces? From reading this thread sounds like there are people signing up for the first time. I've done the WRT a couple of times, always enjoyed it, but the challenge is I only really have a limite...

I'm not commiting to Bivi a Month this year (last year I gave up in May, just as it was getting warm/dry), but I'd be keen to join you guys.
I'm based just outside Haslemere, so the other side of the Downs, happy to show you guys around up here or travel down your way.

Re: Cafe Racer GR are GO.
I've got a route planned, (I think) the only iffy bit is the descent from the wind farm above Garn Fach to the cafe. Going through the windfarm to the south west looks like a decent track, but I might push on through Garn Fach, and then accross Hirddywel, but then I see one of the GRs is out to the ...

Leaking drybag
I’ve just discovered my revelate terrapin drybag is leaking on the seam, is applying another layer of seam tape on top of the existing one going to help, or just a futile exercise?

Where might I be able to blag that from? I've got the route from 2016, and the route back through Hafren was jolly pleasant, how different was this years?I'd also consider blagging this years BB200 route from somewhere.

Re: 29 x 2.8 Tyre Options
Thanks guys. I've done bit more research, and velocity duallys are i39 and lots of people seem to be running 3" tyres on them, so that gives me confidence.
This tyre looks like an interesting option if you are after 2.8, but I cant find a uk supplier - http://terrenetires.com/mcfly/

29 x 2.8 Tyre Options
I've just got a 29" Scrapper i40 rim in the sale from CRC, the WTB website says it's optimised for 2.8" tyres (the i45 version is optimised for 3.0"). But I can't find any 2.8 options available in the UK, does anyone have any recomendations? failing that, is anyone running any other s...
