Re: Backup route

Tbh the snow I could cope with as I assume it's not going to be waist deep. It was the -6 temperature which worried me kit wise. Still ill be keeping a close eye all week. As you say early days.

Re: Backup route

@zerodarkbivy I wouldn't mind but last week I was looking at the Webcam pictures and thinking I'd better buy sun cream. I didn't so that's not to blame. Unfortunately I can't move my week off either.

Backup route

Hi, Having finally managed to get a week off work, which also worked for the family I've been looking forward to and planning to do the Cairngorms loop next week. Travelling Sunday and riding Monday to Friday. Looking at the weather though it's snow all week this week for the cairngorms. I'm worried...

Spot rental

Hi All, With a short notice week off work and a departure date of 29th of April I'm struggling to hire a spot tracker for the week. Tried a few of the usual suspects but they seem to be in short supply that particular week. Anyone know of any other links or contacts I could try. Anyone got one who i...

Re: Ford fiesta minimum gear

Brill advice, keep it coming please. I'd love a good bag but it won't happen by January unfortunately. I do have a down bag but it's a cheap one from a high street camping shop

Re: BB200 2015 ... yes, already.

Oh dear what a dilemma! 25 hours in 2013.......was determined to do 2014 under 24 hours but then had to scratch /commute my entry due unemployment type issues..... So the black badge was the big target...... But the whole point of the bb200 is ridiculousness and the 200+ is ridiculousness+ If I do g...

Satmap

Simple question probably multiple answers. I've been offered the loan of a satmap 10 for the bb 200. Looking at bike mounts I can't seem to find anything less than 30 odd quid.

Anyone have a cheaper alternative please ?

Re: bb200 route, any morsels of what to expect?

Ha lol, I especially remember how easy the last section was, really nice and flat :???: I can still remember the push from the stream where I had to unbolt my seat pack and tackle the climb in two trips. Still got me in a magazine :-) :-) After making 25 hours last year I did have high hopes......

Re: The BB 200 Thread

Truly Epic. Brilliant fun even if I had the wrong bike and the wrong gear The last 10 miles was definitely the worst bridleway in Great Britain 8-) With my setup it was near impossible. At the really steep climb out of the stream I had to take the bike apart and make 3 trips up :-) Thanks to the org...

Re: What bike are you riding for the BB200??

I think my 5 is probably lighter than my old Halfords HT, besides once I've strapped 80Kg of camping gear to it it's probably a mute point...I'm more of a be prepared kind of bivvy'er.....

Re: The BB 200 Thread

So it's a little too late to do any training for the BB ( I should have entered next year not this year !) so now I'm beginning to think about logistics My main concern on a longer ride is food and drink, I did a 149 mile road ride last weekend and managed to drink my way through about 9 litres of e...
