Like it for walking but a bit bulky for bikepacking
Gas cannister and stove and pan(s) packs smaller , is lighter and more useful/adaptable
Reliable as can be though.

Re: Missing the point?
Which begs the question, if you’re following a GPX, especially if a GPX someone else has made for you, is it an adventure in the pure sense of adventure?. Which implies the only way to have an adventure is to be lost and clueless about your whereabouts Solo around the world, with a gpx, is now not ...

The point is its just a 6 km signposted fire road(its not even one big loop). The route is many things but adventure isnt one of them. If it is i am off for an adventure r...

Re: Water Filter
They take out bacteria but not viruses (but rarely an issue in the Uk) I use running water generally Short answer it depends as the toxin may be in the algae or the water. The former it will filter the later it wont ( i would avoid and if i had to do it i would choose before sunrise and boil it)

Water to go works well assuming you can fill the bottle ( needs a decent depth of water) Older bottles (not sure if fixed) are quite rigid and you cannot really squeeze water out for say a brew or some such just suck to drink. The other ia a pump type device. (trailshot for example) which can get wa...

Ultegra crank 34 ring is fine the 50 wont hold a chain (.and a new big ring costs about the same as a crank as its asymetric) but a 39 is about £15 new.
Standard 24 mm£25 pretty light as well
172.5 arms 11 speed.

You can find guides to most things on You Tube. Almost always exactly your exact kit, eg how to bleed your brake rather than generic advice about how to get air out a system and a discussion on mineral via dot. Eg I can bleed brakes but my sram drop bars I still needed a guide. Dont think I would bo...
