I heard a rumour you can ride bikes through mud - though not american ones with their tiny rear tyre clearances [ i learnt that the hard way]
So now not only does the " race" route change every year they dont all even ride the same route - a rather odd " race" by any standard

Broken road works well with Jones bars and lauf forks as I have one..it's a lovely bike
Don't lust after anything at the moment but will no doubt buy a big travel full Susser next year ( probably).as my.26 er is over due an upgrade

No different from a phone or MP3 or some such and I assume most either
1. use a dynamo
2. take a power bank
3. Charge in pubs and cafes
4. a combination of the above

then its clearly a waste of time doing either
