Re: Which DH brakes for 8000m of descent?

All brakes would still be fine with that as I would be walking
Yes fair point an "extreme" DH route might be a step too far for XC brakes But I have ridden the bit shaf means [ with him ] and they will all cope with that

Re: Which DH brakes for 8000m of descent?

It's 80m of height loss each time, not really that much, well within XC capabilities
This
Every brake should cope with this . I have only ever used Sintered and when they squeal the problem is almost always cold or poorly aligned calliper.

when it works well its great, like a normal shop When it does not work well its a nightmare, I only use if its very cheap and something they have not made [ mate had three frames and none were r straight, one was so bent the wheel hit the chain stay. Number four is till going strong to be fair. YMMV

Re: Replacement 'maxle' for Chinese carbon forks

Would an ALPKIT one fit ? both my sonders ( rear) have a nut ( held on by a grin screw) ...not sure it would fit in your fork but the shop is relatively close to see.
I can measure the maxle if that helps ( 148 hub)

Re: 3 questions please? Trail spd pedals/Brand X play & servicing/uphil trail optimal tyre width?

it's probably the longer dropper that won't fit due to a longer shaft/hidden post needed to take the extra length.
I can measure mine if you want

Re: 3 questions please? Trail spd pedals/Brand X play & servicing/uphil trail optimal tyre width?

1. Dropper - that is a good life for a dropper might just be time to bite the bullet as they are £50 new for a 100 mmm dropper from crc 2. Wider tyres are more draggy [ though it may just be the lack of mud] so I use wider in winter narrower in summer - that is a s scientific asI get personally. 3. ...
