Re: Front end dilemma...
its just personal choice IMHO personally I dont ever ride off road with a rigid fork and if i can get away with a rigid fork i ride the CX bike anyway. yes you can ride anything on a rigid but its not as much fun or as comfortable IMHO Plenty disagree hence why its your choice can you borrow a fork ...

i use it as a reminder to do all the bike jobs i would forget - strip and service forks, cup and cone bearings etc - still not sure why I want it to be darker earlier at night in winter - its not like we are all outside farming so i fail to see the point of the change

Re: 26” on gravel bike?
it will work assuming you have clearance the only issue is BB height will be reduced As you wont exactly be going fast i cannot see any problems with this approach- Might actually do it with my Hardtail[650b/29] if it gets proper icy as they [ 26. 2.3 ice tyres]wont fit in my commuter CX bike and I ...

Re: Garmin RAM mounts worth the extra £sass
Mine got ejected so many times I put the RAM Amount on - a few points 1. no need for a lanyard it is not going anywhere 2. Its protects it from OTB and impact in general 3. you can fit a spare set of batteries in it underneath - probably four if you really cared 4. I dont care how pretty or ugly it ...

Re: levarg goes main stream
Not sure i would ever actually attempt anything that required me to drop my seat on a drop bar bike - if you cannot easily pick a line [slowly] I am going to be hammering my rim anyway.
I have ridden it in the lakes but if i think i could do with a dropper right now I will be off and walking.
YMMV

Re: levarg goes main stream
So good they named it twiceYou will have to read it to find out what Gravel levarg means
Dropper and suspension on a gravel adventure bike just seems all kinds of wrong to me ,IME gravel requires neither of these things and if you need suspension and a post take a MTB and be done with it.

Re: 'Int tubeless brilliant!
that is the key the faff is in the warmth of your garage /shed /kitchen rather than the wet and the cold of the trail That said if those tyres dont seat next attempt for my winter SS then its time for some cheap tubeless rims as I am now at frustration point - to be fair its not a tubeless specific ...

Personally I view a fire like i do riding on a footpath - best avoided but can be done responsibly or irresponsibly
there is never a reason for littering
