Re: New Front Harness / Longer Bag?

I had same issue, various front rolls type affairs but slump after a while and hit front tyre, managed to stick hole in an expensive Apidura one. I ended up with one of these, an expensive rescue. but it is a great bit of kit, and swaps between bikes in 1 minute, and i have switched to using a top l...

Porcelain Rocket, Restrap, retro Kona and bits

1 - Porcelain Rocket handlebar roll and front pouch, US handmade brand, that seem to have stopped trading recently sadly, I only ever used this once before going back to top loading bag i prefer , roll opens a lot bigger than image on bar would suggest, front pouch can easily be used on its own with...

New SRAM NX Eagle 12 speed chain / Endura Shacket

Brand new 12 speed SRAM NX Eagle chain - purchased then realised absolute black chain ring only plays nicely with Shimano chains. - £20 posted. Worn twice and not on bike, Endura reversible shacket - now too big for me - size XXL - same colourway as this one - https://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/21400...

Re: Tour of the Cotswolds.

Just back from Heaven of the South in the Cotswolds, 95% on mountain bikes, a hell of a lot of climbing and steep, plus due to the combo of recent sun and then rain, it is very overgrown on many paths and trails, and due to this any trail not in sunlight, is very muddy and sloppy, it was great! What...

Re: Hambini on Bowman

I had a Bowman Palace and it was what you expected, a mid-range frame and it rode well, Bowman were great to deal with and i have seen a number of Palace frames raced in crit races and the like. I think they were good value. Interesting that if you Google it, i cannot find a single instance of someo...

On the road i use and Exposure Strada and one of these, its brilliant, allow me to toggle through settings to low (i always have light angled slightly downwards) and then click back up to maximum when needed https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Exposure-Smart-Port-Remote-Switch-Mk2_98454.htm?sku=350568&utm_...

Re: Carrying fat inner tubes

As above i use a 26" downhill tube and have it attached to frame with a strap all the time so never without, trouble is i found that tubeless is great, but if i lost too much air from tyre before sealant worked, the tyres were quite loose on rim despite numerous rounds of tape on rims, so tyre ...

Supporting Ukraine, 7 Roads bikepacking bags

One of the lads in our local gravel group has ordered from 7 Roads (https://7rbags.com/) and kept in contact with them during the Ukrainian crisis that is going on now, he emailed asking about their safety and had the following reply: Hey! Thank you for your concern) and thank you for the words of s...

This is from Government, due to "supply chain failures", Coronavirus and the "UK's new relationship with Europe!!" you can discharge effluent outside of the terms of your permit, so feel free to do what you like into our rivers and waterways! https://www.gov.uk/government/publica...

Re: OT: we're in Cromer. What's to do?

At the weekends, Holkham Hall (which is great with kids as next to great beaches and has great free playground and aerial rope course) has food / alcohol trucks and live music and nice to sit or cycle around the grounds, plus it is then a short walk into Wells next the Sea which is a good place for ...

Re: Tom! Pidcock!

I think fault lies with MvdP or his team, the ramp was clearly stated in the race handbook to be removed for the race, so someone didn't read it correctly and strange that every other racer knew to jump and not roll it before and after him? Shame though to go out like that.. Clear divide in the time...

One thing, i guess it places the weight of the water at the best place, middle and low, on the bike too, more i think about it, actually it is no just for the racers..

Apidura water bladder

Probably more for the racers, but a bit better looking than the plastic "fuel tank" looking frame water carrier, whadda we reckon?

Re: Giving up booze

I think a lot of it is routine, boredom and a sense of its something you have always done... I think you have to ask yourself if you are someone who can just have an occasional drink, or it has to be all or nothing? My old man was an alcoholic, i grew up with him drinking half a bottle of Bells or T...

I tend to like the stronger, citrusy IPA and Pale Ales, and found any alcohol free ones i bought in supermarket or pub, were gopping. BUT, this is a really good IPA: https://drydrinker.com/product/big-drop-citra-four-hop-low-alcohol-gluten-free-pale-ale-0-5-6-12-x-330ml/ The whole Dry Drinker websit...
