Re: Tarmacs Route Planner?

You are exactly right in my view Hyppy. I'm a massive cycnic about auto-route creation and we are building a product designed to make it easier for people to share routes and directions https://geovey.co.uk . Our work is targeted at walking trails at the moment and we don't plan to go near cycling a...

Re: Todays ride

I came across a roadie yesterday looking very forlorn with a semi inflated rear tyre. He could not get enough air into it using his pump and asked to borrow mine. A quick inspection showed he was using a presta adaptor in the schrader end of his pump. I gently inverted it and inflated his tyre using...

Re: Off Topic - siezed, rusted, possibly double threaded, sheared bolt extraction advice!

£100 an hour for skilled labour We live in very different worlds if you think £100 an hour is a reasonable hourly wage for any human beimg to earn. ( shaf is a nurse and is nowhere near that for example nor is a teacher etc or indeed almost anyone working. That is not a wage. It's an hourly rate fo...

Unpopular opinion but it’s probably 1.5 hours in total sunk time for the welder to get to you, set up, weld and pack away. £100 an hour for skilled labour ready immediately doesn’t seem too harsh to me. And he’s factored risk in as well.

Re: Bikepacking race tips from a pro...

In 2019 hiking 3000 miles from Mexico to canada up the length of the great Divide I ate well over 900 Cliff Bars, most of them the chocolate mint or white chocolate macademia variety. I think the record was 10 in one day. The combination of that plus the 200g of oatmeal and chocate and vanilla flav...

Re: Proposed Wind Farm near Glaslyn

My thinking is to bin the barrage and use the idea of fill/empty. So we construct tidal-filled basins which generate and store electricity as they empty.
