Re: convinced i need some new handlebars

When I started getting wrist pain I tried a Mary bar first. The pain went but I found them just a little too much back sweep (40 degrees I think) and I wanted them wider as they are only 680mm (I think). Moved on to try the Salsa bend 2 (710mm) in 23degree flavour and really liked them. On my latest...

Re: Winter bivvy - can we have a show of hands?

Anyone got a postcode for where we are meeting?

Although after starting the BB200 ten mins late due to sat nav issues maybe the map ref. is a better bet. :P

Re: The post man's been ...

It should have been £90 + postage but Graham gave me a bit of a discount, I think because I was a returning customer. I had custom options of 2 zips and a removable divider. First impressions are very good, it seems very sturdy and has a feel of quality about it. The straps were all in the right pla...

If you haven't already, I'd get some tape wrapped round those tubes where the velcro straps are.
I have had the tape on stand by waiting for it to arrive. You know what I'll be doing this evening.

Re: Winter Bivvy - date?

I have to say, it's almost balmy at the moment ... 9.00am yesterday morning felt like dawn in June. Given where we'll (hopefully) be spending the night, wind could be the biggest factor, although I'm hoping that the spot I have in mind is fairly sheltered. And with your expert tuition on using the ...

My sleeping bag is not really a winter one so I'll need some extra layers to sleep in.

Re: Winter Bivvy - date?

This may be a premature SOS but it's possible my new frame bag might not arrive in time and I really need the extra baggage for the extra clothes.

If required does anyone have a frame bag I could borrow please? :D  :)

Re: Winter (riding) Gloves

By the way I have pair of Seal Skin waterproof gloves (http://www.sealskinz.com/UK/gloves/kj441-all-weather-cycle-gloves-black.html) for sale. I wore them for about 15 dry miles commuting before realising that they were too short for my ET like middle finger. £25 posted if any one is after a pair. :D

I'm no super light packer but WTF?

I'm even planning on a couple of ciders in the bag for the winter bivi but it still wouldn't be that heavy.

Re: The post man's been ...

My stem cell arrived this morning. Mixed first impressions. The size is good, it's a bit bigger than the chalk bag I was using and the mounting seems pretty solid. I thought it felt a bit cheap though and the orange colour is properly naff. The proof is in the using it though, so if it stays togethe...

Re: Planet X Deluxe Bike Bag

The code is UKDEC06 but it went in automatically when I added one to the basket. It's only on the Cobweb, Flowery and Grey & Orange ones, not the black. The grey one is Cobweb by the way, which is the one I would go for.

Planet X Deluxe Bike Bag

As they mention road bikes I'm assuming a 29er wheel will fit in the "wheel bit" of this bag?

Any thoughts generally on the quality etc.?

40% off today only by the way.

Managed to order what was possibly the last orange stem cell, tried to get 2 but only 1 left in stock.
