Re: New ride - Two Tonnes specific!

OOooooo 240's posh. I wanted those but budget only allowed for the 350's. Same internals mind so they perform pretty much the same. :)

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

are there that many long road sections to look forward to?? One thing I've always liked about the route is the long sections of off road. Anyway, out of curiosity, I've just worked out the amount there's about 20% tarmac on the 100 (I've excluded the few sections there are half a mile or less). If ...

Re: The post man's been ...

On-One Merino Core Element Short Sleeve With Zip arrived today but it's a funny cut. Medium is right round the chest but to baggy round the waist. I think a small will be to small in the chest but the right size in the waist. Going to swap it for On One Performance Fit Short Sleeve Base Layer which ...

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

It's a shame as that is quite a fun descent down to the stream. JonnyStorm might not agree though. :?

It's roughly this bit.

Re: That there gravel race, what bike poll?

Are you thinking that it was the angle of the light or just having one?

Did from Strata Florida on wards in the dark on the BB200 with just a bar light and it was OK. 140mm fork though so that might have played a part in making the bumps go away. ;)

Anyone seen the same style but with a 15mm axle and not a stupid price?

A pair of Fulcrum Racing 7 CX wheels for the Kite. They're a bit heavy, but were fairly cheap in the sale from Merlin, and I can now swap from gears to SS on the Kite fairly easily. Running 1x8, 36:32-12. Will find out in the morning how she rides... That's almost the same as what I actually use on...

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

The patches definitely get my vote, I'd have one of those but I wouldn't buy a t-shirt.

EDIT: I wasn't planning on carrying any camp gear for the 200. I think this really will be death or glory for me. :?

So mountainbaker, chicken legs, myself and maybe yetiman will be having a couple of drinks and some food in Mach Friday night. Of course anyone is welcome to join us.

Not sure where yet, any suggestions for a pub that does good food?

Been looking at this one. Big enough to double as a plate as well.

Any suggestions for a bikepacking frying pan? Small and lite without being too small. ;)
Cheap would be great as well but I don't really know what the budget is. :?

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

I'm not going to rely on resupply at all for this one. Not much has to go wrong (even just a stiff head wind) to slow you down enough that you don't get to the shop in time and suddenly find yourself hours from anywhere with no food. This is what frame bags are for. :) Is that bit through Strata Flo...

Re: There 'n back ... DETAILS SENT.

So quick question. The bridle way that comes out the forrest at Pant Mawr roughly SH 941 066 doesn't seem to exsist on satellite images. Is it there? Is there a better way to get over to Dolau-ceimion?

I don't have much choice as I only have mountain bikes. The choice for me is to go ridgid or not... which I probably will.

That's not the sort of ride video I had in mind.

Serious question, would you tie the tarp lines to rocks in the dunes?

So for instance did you consider the total that the campsites could take if empty or did you factor in that they might have othe...

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

Well it was said in jest. I guess though that 80 was pretty much plucked form the air in terms of the general show of hands and not derived from any risk assessment? ;) I also predict that within about 10mins the field will be so strung out no one would know anyway. :) To be fair though Ian has put ...

I went through this exactly, about 3 months ago. Rims - I went with the light bicycle carbon wider 29er rims. They seem to have been replaced in the range by these. http://www.light-bicycle.com/bead-hook-less-rims-carbon-29er-light-bike-rim-tubeless-compatible.html#.UsL90Rh5_6E These rims are vaguel...
