Re: Something like waxed cotton shorts?

I only have one pair of baggies that "wet-out" the rest are so light that they don't have that annoying saturated feel but if I was going to wax my own I would probably only bother with the front of the thighs and a patch at the back to stop wet arse. I would have thought this would still ...

Cheers Stu and Dee for the organising and the great cake. Really enjoyed it and great to go riding with like minded people again.

Nice to meet at last Gairy and have a pint. :)

Re: Fargo V2 fork or Firestarter steel fork?

I have a fargo that I bought for my 26"er HT. I wanted rigid but wanted to keep the geo of a 140mm fork. Worked out pretty well. I'll be using the fargo on my 29er for the 2tonOgravel.

Re: Sawyer mini water filter - how good?

Was about to post the same about the plastic pouch being stiff. Give it a blow to inflate it and it pops into shape. Make sure the gusset at the bottom is expanded and then it stands up.

Re: There 'n back ... DETAILS SENT.

So for those that will be about on the Friday night. We'll be in the White Lion in Mach from about 7:30pm. Apparently they stop serving food about 8:30pm.

All welcome to join us.

It's small, light weight and filters fairly quickly. Not sure what else to say really.

Re: T 'n B ... where you going?

Just to clarify Stu, the track going from the monument to Aberhosen is the one to use? Not the one just to the south that runs parallel to it?

What are the characteristics that make a gravel bike different to a cross bike?

Re: 92mm pressfit to BS threaded

My confusion was why I might need a converter to use cranks that I already use without a converter. :D

I suspected that it might not be possible and didn't exist but stumbling across the bb30 one gave me some false hope. :|

Thanks for the input all.

Re: T 'n B ... where you going?

We would be going west.

So either push up the bridle way or push up the road. :?
Or just skirt round Esgair Graflwyn altogether.

No doubt as we wouldn't have been going that long by then we'll choose attempting strong arm it over the mountain. :D :?

Re: T 'n B ... where you going?

Further to the talk about Esgair Geulin and Foel Fadien below is how our route looks at that bit. Are you suggesting Stu to go to the monument and the summit and down the other side to use that bridle way going north west as opposed to the one the route is on currently? http://www.composite-projects...

Re: 92mm pressfit to BS threaded

The thing that confuses me about all this is that I already run standard HT2 cranks. I'm using this bottom bracket.

92mm pressfit to BS threaded

Can you get an adaptor to make a 92mm press fit bottom bracket shell into a British standard threaded to use HT2 Bottom brackets.

Something like this one for BB30: http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/ ... APTER-73MM

Does this even exist?

Re: T 'n B ... where you going?

Revised plan. Might now take the Pegasus and try and pack some miles in northwards to get in Dolgellau and Barmouth, possibly through the Rhinnogs (get some HTR 560 training in early). Would quite like to get that little stone bridge in the middle of nowhere in (Pont Scethin?). Haven't totted up th...
