Re: Please tell me about singlespeeds

I built a 2014 Fargo as a SS flat bar with Fox forks and love it. Nice thing is that the 2014 frame has alternator dropouts, so SS is easy, as is Rohloff, Alfine or gears. I like the fact that it has a properly designed set of dropouts for Rohloff, not a bodge. So it would be well worth considering ...

Re: Cross Bike / Gravel bike

John, interesting comments on Planet XLS, Vaya, and 29+. Am I reading it right, that XLS really needed wider rubber, such as a Vaya could fit, but in fact 29+ is the solution. So you are getting the benefit of wider rubber without too much increase in drag. Fast and fat, as Sam said on his Kickstart...

Big savings on Paramo this morning. I find the Velez superb from Autumn, though winter and Spring. http://www.sportpursuit.com/sales/paramo-apr14?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Apology%20Email_UK_No%20Voucher%20(1)&utm_content=&spMailingID=8362385&spUse...

Re: Singular Rooster 29+ Kickstater

Sam has updated the Kickstarter with some additional options. Forks only in black or yellow £100 Forks only in black or yellow with "anything cage mounts" £110 Not sure how you order frameset with fork cage mounts. Or frame only for people who want to use suspension forks such as the Fox F...

Singular Rooster 29+ Kickstater

Sam has posted the start for funding his Rooster 29+ project. Guess not enough braze-ons for some but a very clean looking frameset.

Re: The New Forest

In the mid sixties you could camp anywhere. In the mid 80's you could ride anywhere. Now, camping only in official camp sites and riding only on authorised routes. However once away from busy car park areas it is very quiet and rarely see anyone, especially at this time of year. There is loads of gr...

Re: 29+ for bikepacking

On One posted a 29er+ prototype wheelset on Facebook some while back. They also mentioned Planet X have there own 45mm rims in development. Probably tyres too. Once wheels are sorted, a 29er+ Inbred has to be easy, and what a great price it could be. https://www.facebook.com/ononebikes/posts/5922895...

Re: Dales200

I walked the Dale's Way in the 90's and although I thought I knew the Dales well, walking though that wonderful landscape was so memorable compared with all those car journeys to the Lakes. So I hope you do create an available bikepacking route for many people to enjoy. From that walk I would love t...

Re: Specialized AWOL and new European race

Ok, so if I like my Fargo a lot, but would like to go Rohloff or Alfine and even possibly belt drive, what choices do I have? I need the high front end at my age, tyres up to 2.2 which the AWOL gives me plus carrying capacity. Cannot afford very high end expepensive solutions. The AWOL frameset in a...
