Intrigued to find out where you saw that...? I signed up to the Riverside Touring newsletter and everything and have been checking their website, but have seen and heard nowt. Nice to finally get an idea of cost... popped up on the Riverside Instagram today, in the stories bit (click on Bikes above...

Decathlon drop-bar bikepacking bike, complete with USB charging hub. Looks pretty interesting, not sure if the bags come with it too but I'd imagine they'll sell them separately anyway.

Re: Folding bikes

Can't comment on "other" folders but I've had a Brompton for 9 years, it's ace. Does ride differently to a normal bike but I don't notice it really. I use it everyday for commuting, train to Oxford then about 3 or 4 miles to work. But I've also ridden a couple of bridleways around Sheffield and road...

Re: RIDE LONDON BIKE SHOW

I went today (collecting my number for the 100 on Sunday). I got a free baseball cap, some stickers and freebie bars/gels. Didn't really see any bargains. They did have that Trek bikepacking bike with the orange racks.

Not sure it's worth a trip unless you're passing or work there TBH!

Was the Alpkit code limited time only? Not working now, bit gutted as they actually had stock of something I wanted for a change!

Looks interesting, might be worth getting the Foretrex 701 as it
adds Applied Ballistics Elite software that calculates aiming solutions for long-range shooting
. never know when that'd come in handy.

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

Maybe it is a brand perception thing, Genesis have got a "bikepacking bike" image? Pinnacle is Evans own brand, bit like Boardman and Halfords? Now being objective I know that's daft, pretty sure Jameso knows what he's doing (!), and they've got some interesting bikes in their range. Maybe the Ramin...

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

Cheers Mark, good to know.

(hello btw, decided it's probably cheaper to buy a new bike than fix my old one so I can finally do the TCW with you!) (and you can have your brakes back, haven't used them)

Think the longitude's are reduced in 18 at the moment but they're still £250 more

Re: Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

To be honest I'm looking for reasons not to get one!

Sounds good, only concern is the EBB, not needed on fact mind, just that I haven't had a bike with one.

Pinnacle Ramin 3 plus - anyone got one?

After reading Stu's review (and the current price drop) I like the look of the ramin 3 Plus https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-ramin-3-plus-2016-mountain-bike-EV264163 . just wondering if Stu's got an update on how it rides, or if anyone has tried one. Looks like a bargain version of the Genesis L...

Wildcat Gear is available through some bike shops. We're trying to build the dealer list so there's good coverage across the country. From little acorns and all that  Any bike shops reading can get in touch via the Wildcat website if you'd like to stock some UK made Bikepacking gear :-bd Ple...

Re: No more solo overnighters for me

I'm an insulin dependent diabetic, and have done a few solo trips. I've found the key is to make sure your background insulin is sorted, and go low on fast acting - I've gone to bed (well, tent) with blood as high as 20 and woke up with it around 5-6. It's surprising how much it drops after exercise...

I bought a Lifeventure one on your recommendation JackT (assuming you are the Bike Show Jack and not another one!), and it's been ace. I bought the zip-up cover insulating cover which also helps keep it hot but you could MYO pretty easily.

Re: Revelate Viscacha, the little D rings on top...

Mine didn't have any either, just used some I had already.

I tend to keep that sort of stuff "just in case", cut out of old bags/waterproofs etc. Come in handy to add extra compression or stuffage on all sorts of bags. Quite handy to just strap a water proof on to the bars too.

Re: Revelate Viscacha, the little D rings on top...

I stuck an elastic cord on mine with a cord lock. Ran it in around the edges then across the middle so its a square with a cross if that makes sense?

Can stuff a jacket or drybag in it, and have used it to hold a D-lock which worked really well coz it kept it out of the way, but to hand.

Re: Your bikepacking bike

Does this count? Steel frame, the wrong sized wheels, frame bag and drybag? Have used it for a combined Bunkhouse/hotel trip in the Peak, bit of a canal pootle and bivi on top of a barge. No serious off road use though

MYOG Longflap saddle bag (not mine!)

I was pretty impressed by this homemade saddlebag. Not exactly UL bivi stuff, but nice anyway.

Worth scrolling down to look at the pattern they used too.

Re: Tell me about ..... bumbags/waist bags

I've got both OMM ones, use them mostly for running. Very pleased with them, the laccy strap really cinches them in so they don't bounce around.

The yellow (6l) one is noticeably bigger and has a zipped hip pocket if that makes any difference.
