Re: HT550 - 2024

More observations

Colin Baird (yellow flag) is flying along, penny just dropped as he had a very late start too from the mass start

Kerry Macphee has been remarkable, got a good lead over 2nd place :-bd

Just use the other hand…?

At my doctors, you can call up for free physio and swerve speaking to a doctor, probably quicker to get an appointment too

Re: HT550 - 2024

If my calculations (and memory!!) is correct, looks like Alex has lost about 20miles to seconds place. Think yesterday the lead was about 40miles for a long time but it’s shrunk to 20 or so

*obviously miles in this terrain isn’t the best indicator

The flask from Banana Industries came for the wifey, she’s pleased with it (which is handy as she was after mine). No more tepid water on a hot day :-bd The free three pairs of socks look decent to be fair, so a bit of a bargain there for me. The sunglasses are alright, not quite my normal style for...

Flask for a tenner https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/products/copy-of-bottle-for-life-32oz-990ml Comes with three free pairs of socks too. Got the flask last month and using it for water, works well for that. No idea of how well it works for hot drinks. They’ve also got 15% of sunglasses and socks,...

Listened to the new Kings of Leon album twice, it’s not going to be classic is probably the most pleasant thing I can say!

First ten seconds started promising but went quickly down hill, maybe two half decent songs but that’s it

[tongue in cheek] I’ve heard good things about Sonder bikes Shaf, have you suggested one of them? Just interested on where people draw the line with adventure. Used to think it was just going out all day doing something fun, then thought it was something that happened to you whilst out (ie unplanned) but now thinking it’s more type 2/type 3 fun behaviour (ie feeling uncomfortable whilst out/pus...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

It's a cheery Friday (well, Saturday) for me as I quit my job last week and don't really plan on getting another one any time soon. Was pretty high stress (senior management level) and in a difficult subject (investigating child abuse) and my cortisol levels weren't doing me any good. I decided to ...

If she’s got a bike already, how about a turbo trainer instead? Plenty about on the second hand market too, so wouldn’t cost £££ Would probably just need to change the rear tyre and then you’re good to go

^^^
Never realised Zinn’s books were still going, had one from maybe 20-25 years ago and it was full of lovely (I assume hand drawn) diagrams. Was just lovely to read as a book (which is probably the reason I’m a rubbish mechanic, as I never got past the reading stage of the book  )
