Re: Winter Bivvy?

We should maybe start its own thread then. I was thinking about contacting Wicken Fen to see if the basics campsite was available; open sided shelters, a fire pit and a composting loo. Meet at Cambridge Station, do a bit of a ride, camp, brekkie at Maglia Rosso, then either back to Cambridge or Bur...

Re: New bothy for Scotland.

Mike, Javi and me stayed at the bothy last year while the chaps were still working on it and they have made a grand job of it. The long drop toilets are in a separate block and we were treated to a behind the scenes tour of the ingenious bagging system by the guy who designed it, who knew so much th...

Re: Autumn HT550

Just finished 300 miles in the Highlands with good sections of the central section of the HT550.
No problem with stalking and river levels are low.
Fisherfield crossing water level was just above my knees.

Re: Wide opening bivi bags

Have you looked at the MLD bivvy bags, bit spendy but I'm impressed with mine, had it a couple of years.

Just checked the price and they are alot spendy but still very good !!

Re: S2S 'bag liners

I have been using the Sol Escape to uprate my bag for the winter for a few years and find it to be excellent, probably gives an extra 3-4 degrees.
Do not confuse the Sol Emergency bag with the Escape the emergency bag is not breathable.

Re: Like white dog shi+.....

I read somewhere that the Energizer Lithiums should only bought in a sealed pack or they are probably copies. I purchase mine from ebay and they have got more expensive recently. Used a company called Go Green Batteries for years and have always been good. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114589170290?has...

Shimano GRX brakes to post mount

Looking for the correct adapter to install Shimano GRX brake calipers to post mounts front and rear with 160mm rotors. Found Cinq adapters which are nearly as expensive as the brake calipers  Is this the cheapest/only way to do it ? https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/cinq-disc-brake-adapter-po...

I was up there at the beginning of last week and had a good spot in the dunes with a great view of the sunset.
Link to my Strava shows the exact spot, no trouble with any other people, saw no one.

This is one of the reasons I like my ZPacks Hexamid, its made of Dyneema Composite Fabric which doesn't wet out like silnylon but is still light.

I have been using one of these for the last year or so and it is equally as good as better known makes that failed too soon and its cheaper.

OBH wasn't open to non residents last year. Can't see any change to that on their website. No, they wouldn't serve us, even outside last year, but a friend has just come back from there and they said they got served outside, so it seems that is an option this year. This is what OBH said, Hi yes we ...
