Re: Tomorrows Ride (which I won't chicken out of)

Looks like I 'have' to head out tomoz as I've got a prototype bag to try out for a well known bikepacking company, not that I need an excuse!

Re: “Best” cycling waterproof trousers

I'm a fan of Gore Bike Wear and I've just bought a couple of new pants a few months ago. One is the Gore C5 which I think are spot on, very breathable and love it when the water droplets trickle down them. The other is a lighter pair which I think are from the Gore Running range. There seem good for...

Cheers, tbh if I left it, it would have lost a couple of pound over a few days and probably squeeze out of it. But I couldn't just leave it there.

Re: Todays ride

Despite being off work for a week I finally managed to get out for a 50 mile loop around Snowdonia in whats known as the Bethesda loop taking in cycle ways, country lanes, some gravel and the worst bit about 20 mile of 'main' roads. I even saved a fat assed lamb who thought a small gap between a sla...

Re: I'll leave this here for Stu.

I've been lucky enough to receive some free kit over the last few years, from bags (yes Apidura ;) ) and bags from a few others too, an vaguely exciting bike and some other bits and bobs. TBH if any of it is crap then I won't use it, if its ace (imo) then yes I'll use it and plug it for them on the ...

Jeff- the checkpoints aren't anything on the ground they are just something needed by the Trackleaders software
O right, cheers!

Does anyone else have Google maps open as well, just so we get an idea as to what there're up against?

Re: Highland Trail 2019

Full respect goes out to these riders. The mileage and time in the saddle is nuts. Shame LC has scratched (seen confirmation on Twitter). Aswell as watching dots it would be great to see some footage of them passing through checkpoints.

The Alpkit Ordos 2 is a great bit of kit. It weighs next to nothing and is easily packable on the bike. Its inner pitch first which some frown at but its a thumbs up from me :-bd

Re: Todays ride

We usually get a day like this in April/May and I usually go up on the tops of the Carneddau, Snowdonia. So today I duly obliged. Carnedd Llewellyn stands at 3491 feet. As per usual a fair bit of pushing but was all worth it for the views and the ride down. some pics... https://live.staticflickr.com...

Hopefully my rides should be a little comfier from now on. I don't usually 'get on' with bib shorts but these arrived for testing, so I guess I'll have to give them a go.....

Re: Todays ride

Went out on Sunday for a little mooch. Done a fair bit of walking with the bike to get to a small summit but the views were worth it. A dusting of snow on the Carneddau will probably be the last of this winter. Despite the hike a bike up, the descent was super fun!! https://live.staticflickr.com/655...
