Great news Rich. You can’t have your old Brompton back, I’m afraid. It gets ridden more than my other bikes combined. Be great to see ya back in the saddle.

Interested in your impressions of the Fat Paw grips. I've got hands like t-bone steaks and they could be just the thaaaang for my trail bike.

That's a stonking bike for that sort of money. Have you got it on Pinkbike? Stick it on there for £2200 and I reckon you'll get some nibbles.

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

August done for me too, though not in the magnificent style of JohnClimber. The best view I had last night was the inside of my eyelids. I stuffed my hammock and quilt into a dry bag, my tarp, guys and pegs in a backpack and rode about 2 miles up to a local wood. I had left it late to see the kids i...

Firstly: freaking @wesome you two are doing this together. I'm close to my son, but the relationship between you guys is off the scale.

Secondly: Kit wise can't fault you but I'd have gone for a two-folk shelter and shared the bits n pieces.

Thirdly: Cut your toenails. JUST DO IT

I could never get on with proper aero tri bars but quite liked Cinelli Spiaci bar extensions as you could adjust the height quite a bit and they didnt put me so far forward. Cheap these days too.

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

Well that all went very well and happy to get 7/7 for 2019. It went as planned with a very easy ride out to the pub and a nice meal before riding the half mile to the bivvy spot. MAG and Son hung one on top of t'other and that worked well from a "stop him waking in the night screaming" perspective. ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

Heading out tonight for a local one with MAG* and her son. He's 8. Claims to hate cycling and camping. So it's a 2 mile flat ride to the pub for fish n chips and then half a mile up into the woods They both want to try hammocks and, as luck would have it, I have three of them and three tarps too, ra...

Pix below for the edification of all. I'm near Gerrards Cross in South Bucks. It doesn't include the bottles/cages, the bags, Garmin mount or the pedals ... just the bike. Which is nice. I promise. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48250984082_0abdca6e9b_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/4...

FS: 2017 Pinnacle Arkose 4 XL

Afternoon. Putting this up again after having a change of heart the last time I tried to sell it. It's a lovely bike but I'm just not using it and need to make some room. It's the one in the link below and in pretty much perfect condition with a near new chain and cassette and barely used Conti AT R...

Re: What tyre? I know... I know...

Continental X KIngs here. They're not the cheapest and I can't get mine to go up tooobless but the tread pattern ..... ooooh, I do love them. They come up very big for a 2.4 and I can run them down to 14psi or so, which is not much but gives super grip in winter, and then stuff them up to 25-30psi f...

Re: Cassette range question

Another Q, if I left the 11-32 On one set of wheels, put the 11-42 On another set, would swapping between the two be doable, or would I be forever adjusting the mech and chain ? Even if they're the same wheels on the same hubs it's likely you'll be adjusting them. Ive got three sets of wheels for m...

Sometime in April - 101.5kg 24.5.19 - 98kg 7.6.19 - 97.6kg 15.6.19 - 97.2kg 1.7.19 - 97.1kg I'm going to treat the fact that I was 96.4kg (or something) at the start of last week as an anomaly and reflect on the eating and sitting still I did for the rest of the week. It was not good. I got back on ...

I vote we move the weekly weigh in to Monday. I'm always my fattest on Friday, and thinnest on Monday. I felt pretty pudgy this morning so resisted the urge. Monday. I will do it Monday.

WTD: another hard tail frame

My young fella seems to have rediscovered his bike, which is now too small for him. And given he's six or seven inches taller than when we put it together, I don't mind.

So I'm now on the scrounge for a large hard tail frame, preferably with a tapered head tube and 135mm rear end

Anyone?
