I guess as it's a daily charge carpark, you can't leave it there overnight... Not sure where to park it while we ride?

Re: anyone run a Gates belt drive on their rohloff ?

I'm running a belt (albeit on a pinion 1.18), I only got the bike a couple of months ago. I snapped the first belt within a week. Turns out I hadn't read the f'ing manual, and I had got the belt on by mounting a few teeth then turning the cranks like you would with a chain on a single speed. That cr...

Re: Travers Ti frames - pay what you can afford.

I'm genuinely interested in this outlook and where it comes from. I think it's probably just from bad experience with an on-one with some terrible early PF standard, the BBs had plastic cups are were total junk. Maybe newer standards are better, do the bearings press directly in to the frame/metal ...

Re: Travers Ti frames - pay what you can afford.

their customers being the bike manufacturers rather than the paying public- again I dont recall anyone wishing bottom brackets were fitted like headsets I agree with this. Factories make what they are told to make by bike designers. Who make decisions on both merit of design and the bottom line, co...

Re: Travers Ti frames - pay what you can afford.

Except Pressfit isn't proven junk. There are some awful implementations of it but done properly, PF is a perfectly fine standard. Bashing brands that can manufacture correctly is fine, but bashing the standard makes no sense. Because there wasn't a problem with threaded BBs, so it's a pointless sta...

Re: who rides Ti ?

What made you settle on the P1.18 out of interest? I was gonna get the c1.12, but Dmitry at Triton got an OEM dealers email from pinion that they had a few orange P1.18s surplus to an order from a manufacturer, so I got about 30% off in the end. It is heavy, 2.5kg for the box alone, but it's low an...

Re: who rides Ti ?

mountainbaker, that pinion bike is fantastic. something similar is my aim. You wont be disappointed, the pinion takes a little getting used to, but now I love it. And make sure you read the guides on how to handle the belt, I ramped mine on to the chainring like you would with a chain, and it snapp...

Re: who rides Ti ?

I love Ti, have been riding it for about 10 years, never damaged any of my Ti frames, I currently have a Pickenflick for groad duties that I really mistreat and it's fine. I got a custom one made for Tour Divide in 2015 by Triton in Moscow, their workmanship is amazing and very reasonably priced, th...

Re: Wildcat - the final sale

Ian & Beth, I've just seen this as I've been out of the loop for some time with injury and other life stuff going on. I totally get it, and I'm sure it's a wise decision. Your bolt on framebag is still going strong and took a lot of sub standard on tour divide, I'm quite sad I can't get another ...
