Re: Audax. anyone ride em ?

A fortnight ago I did my first 1300km, up from 1000km. The last couple of hours my arms just gave up and I needed the aerobars to hold me up, to be able to keep going. I think they're essential for 600+ just to give muscles a rest or change

Re: It's the future!

I used to volunteer for a charity supporting people with additional support needs to cycle (recently closed, lack of funding). We had those and many various other wheeled objects to cater for specific needs. Zero chance they'd wheelie or roll, even with a load on the back. Trikes and side-by-side tr...

Is it important to get the dry bag along with the handlebar harness, for a proper fit? I've loads of other dry bags already

Re: Before I buy a Lunar Solo...

Yes, apologies, the nano version  Faffage to my mind not that big a deal, certainly not c.£120 worth of big-deal given the price difference. HYOH, of course  It's not just the price difference though. There is also a difference in usable floor/head space; much more with a Solo than with...

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

I raced on the green Mud clincher last cx season. Very good in cx-style mud. Easy tubeless set up, they've still all the air in since the last race and bike's use in January. Wear quickly though. Going Vittoria Terreno Wet next. Pretty much identical tread, bit more hard wearing

Re: Anyone ridden the Reiver Raid route? Any good?

I did most of it in a day. It wont occupy a fairly experienced mountain biker - large parts are on road, off road is mostly tame (although memory hazy about that) and did it on the 33mm CX bke. Parts seemed convoluted doubling back for little benefit. Suggest doing the South West and then staying ou...

Re: The Acepac luggage I mentioned.

16ltr dry bag and saddle harness arrived today. Bag is cavernous, as large as any other saddle pack I have (aipidura, lumo, podsacs, alpkit). A very wide mouth for shoving stuff in. Thick material, heavy weight. There is a slight, very fine weave on the outside - I wonder if this will hold dirt more...

Re: When?????

So does that mean July 3rd wild camping is ok (Scotland)? That's how I've read it (if also maintaining distancing and hygiene measures) I see TJ is having a massive tantrum about this on the STW thread, and is being aggressively rude so I'm not interested in getting involved. Does anyone disagree w...

Re: When?????

There is no equivalent clause in the Scottish regulations or associated guidance. I'm wrestling with myself over what I can/n't do currently, reading the regs and guidance for a steer. We dont have that reg but we do have: Restrictions on movement 5.—(1) Except to the extent that a defence would be...
