Good effort on collecting the tokens/donating the frogs.

If he was, I have a picture with him! Surely there's only one Kermit who is partial to having a few pict...

Re: Leg Coverings

I've got a pair of Scott Helium gore tex shorts which I picked up in a sale. They are generally great except that the only way of tightening the elasticated waist is using these very simple cord lock devices which I've found don't stay tight - so I ended up with the shorts dropping down my waist. Wh...

Re: What's wrong with me? (Ridiculous ride aspiration conten

I don't think you're alone at all. I'm a pretty mediocre rider - have always been at the back of groups mountain biking... always. Even now I consider myself much fitter than I used to be, I'm still mediocre. I guess as has been said, it depends on whether you want to ride the Divide route, or wheth...

Re: DVD

I've got a copy of both that I'd be willing to lend out... I agree with Dan_K that Ride the Divide is great; and whilst Reveal the Path looks beautiful, there's not really as much substance to it... Only thing is that I've only got Ride the Divide on Blueray; whilst I've got Reveal the Path on both ...

Re: North / South Downs bivvy spots?

Cool - we should definitely sort something out. I don't think it was Chanctonbury - it was on a ride from Eastbourne to Hassocks so I didn't make it that far. I kept the list of locations I'd found on a walking forum but just can't quite match it up with what I thought I'd recce'd - the only place t...

Haha thats funny... I could just bivvy in the street outside work, save myself the commute and get as many overnighters as I want!

Re: North / South Downs bivvy spots?

I've ridden the SDW from Eastbourne to Hassocks and am sure the spot I found was in a small copse just off the top of the ridge towards the Hassocks end; I just can't quite remember where. It felt remote enough and off the track that you might avoid folk, you'd just need to be up and off early I gue...

Re: North / South Downs bivvy spots?

Yes - thats how I thought it would feel! I have seen a bunch of locations for the South Downs Way posted on a walking forum, and on a ride I did think I'd identified one of them that looked decent for an overnight stop (woods on top of a hill) - but that was about 7 months ago and now I've picked up...

Re: Bivvy a month for 2013

Howdy... Am new here but on NYE I decided a bivvy a month (not necessarily always by bike) was a good plan. I'm in London though so some of this will have to be in the overpopulated North / South Downs - so if anyone has recommendations on handy locations to get me started, let me know! Have a light...

North / South Downs bivvy spots?

Hey All, My first post here. I registered for the WRT last year but due to a variety of valid and poor excuses, didn't make it and then failed to do any decent bike trips last year. I did a ride / camp trip down to Switzerland in 2011, including a decent amount off road, though this was with pannier...
