Re: Sleeping Bag Rated to -6 and a tent 3 edging into 4 season tent

Here is the email they sent (2015) Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2015 14:59:53 +0100 From: info@CUMULUS.PL Subject: Re: [contact] cumulus.pl Hello, I'm sorry but we don't ship to the UK. It is a part our agreement with our British partner, Criterion sleeping bags. Cumulus will enter British market next year. Yo...

Re: Sleeping Bag Rated to -6 and a tent 3 edging into 4 season tent

Is Criterion a UK subsidiary/distributor of Cumulus? No, 'tis a misconcetion as both companies shared a name for a while but are in fact completely unrelated in every way. Criterion used to be the UK distributor for Cumulus. I know this because when I bought my quilt a few years back I wasn't able ...

Re: Black Gore Shakedry Alternative

I got a shakedry jacket for an extremely cheap price, only worn it a couple of times and there is now an abrasion tear/hole on the sleeve above the cuff. Anyone done any repairs on shakedry?

Re: Go Outdoors set to go in to administration

I genuinely found it wierd when they were asking me where i lived - i was saying i just want to buy these things from you now do you want my money or not? They did not is the answer to that one. The other broad point is that actualshops cannotcompete with online shops as the overheads are so much h...

Re: What tents do you lot use

1 person - vango helium 200. It’s not perfect as there isn’t much headroom sitting up and ventilation could be better. However, it’s light and packs small so I put up with the minor gripes I have. 2/3 People - big Agnes copper spur hv ul3. These tents are great and can easily fit 3 adults but only w...

Re: Too Fat to Bivi!

If I were going to buy a new solo tent I'd go for the big Agnes copper spur ul1 bikepacking specific tent. I've got the the standard ul3 for family adventures and have been really impressed with it but the poles are quite long when packed meaning the only place they fit is on my pack. The packed pol...

I Just use one of these on my reverb to reduce the travel and then tape up the top bit of the shaft to prevent any bag rub being an issue:

They are about £5 on ebay

Re: Tent Recommendations (sorry...)

We've the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 which is only 1.5kg but it's inner first pitching so depending on where you are going might not be the best but since you've used a Fly Creek you'll be used to it. If you use the footprint groundsheet you can pitch outer first (or not even use the inner) on the c...

We use an exped megamat duo, pricey but the closest thing to a real matress we've slept on. My Mrs was ready for giving up on camping due to crap sleeps so it was worth paying the extra for us.

Yeah I've got one, great for a fiver and the webbing loops allow the straps to be repositioned to wherever you need them.

I just use the enduro collar that came with my reverb placed about halfway down the post. I then wrap the remaining post (above the collar) in tape to protect it from the seatpost strap (its basically a DIY wolftooth) If the post were to fail through loss of pressure, the enduro collar can be used t...
