Sew, I was going to make a seat bag.

I have the material and have it sketched out. I have been pondering if 12 litres is really enough space while considering the argument that anymore means it swings about over the back wheel. So, why not use a saddlebag? My 40 year old Karrimor has a 20 litre capacity and fits right up under the sadd...

Re: Suspension forks

If I am measuring correctly my steerer seems to have been cut to 210mm. There are 40mm of spacers besides the stem.
Does that mean I can get away with a steerer length of 170mm if I am buying second hand?

Suspension forks

Until this year the only suspension forks I knew anything about were Norton Roadholders but a move from the road to the bridleways and towpaths made me buy a pair of Suntour coil spring forks. I've been very pleased with them from the point of view of comfort in my wrists but they are heavy. After a...

Re: Cost v Weight v Size

I sometimes use a foil and foam car widescreen cover as extra insulation but I do sleep very cold :)

Re: Cost v Weight v Size

Other Options or is t...

Re: Alfine 11 to an On One Inbred frame

Went for the option of least butchery with blue and green washers, and ran the cable down the chain stay.
Works fine in the repair frame :)

Cheers

Re: Alfine 11 to an On One Inbred frame

Hi Nobby, I have a Alfine 8 in a vertical dropout One-One Scandal 29er. I run the cable down the seat stay rather than the chainstay. It's a while since I set it up and I'm not at home at the mo to take a look at what I did, but I think I used Green and Blue anti turn washers. Not sure how availabl...

He's not on here often so try pm-ing him if you want a reply.
Cheers - will do although the arm on the 8 is a lot shorter the on the 11.

Alfine 11 to an On One Inbred frame

Has anybody done this?
Using the 'correct' anti rotation washers for horizontal slots the outer cable stop on the cassette joint doesn't clear the chain stay. I'm reluctant to modify the chain stay with a large hammer.

Rear Brake for On One Inbred?

Hi all My first post, I think. I bought an Inbred frame last week and started moving bits across from my old frame. I have a problem with the rear brake. The mounts are between the chain stay and seat stay. My lbs has sold me a Shimano BR-M416A because I have a cable operated Shimano discs on the fo...
