Re: 15mm dynamo hub with QR adapter
I got keep pedalling to build me my dynamo wheel with this premise. I use a SP PD 8X hub ( http://www.sp-dynamo.com/8Xseriesdynamo%20hub.html ), had it laced up to a crest and Its been great. At the moment I use it all of the time with the supplied axle adapter, its been fine with no difference. [Yo...

Re: minimalist first aid kit: show me / describe your's plea
Couple of antiseptic wipes, 2-3 plasters, strip of butterfly stitches, couple of ibuprofen, safety pin. Sun and bug spray in the summer, occasionally bite relief cream too. Anything needed more than a plaster would get bodged from spare clothes, gorilla tape and zip ties. Tiny pliers with tools hav...

Re: Gravel+.
Looks good with the extra volume and no noticeable change in 'size' of the tyre.
What wheel set are you using there out of interest Stuart, this 650b thing does interest me as a way to get more volume without losing clearance below my saddle
Thanks

No worries, glad I could help out!
Tidy bit of work that, love the bar end housing too, reckon that will make it good and robust long term.
Soldering is defo a skill! Dead easy to overlook it, I got impatient and cooked a switch whilst doing mine!

Re: WTD: 140mm 26in Suspension Forks
Right oh, after a brief foray to the shed, They defy have a straight steerer (1 1/8) and they are Rockshox Recon Silver. The steerer has been cut to 195mm and has the star fangled nut in situ. They are black with red decals. But.... I think they are 120mm travel... not 140 mm travel. They are in pre...

Re: WTD: 140mm 26in Suspension Forks
I might have a set at home in the shed, RockShox Spring ones I think, came on my Scandel originally. Can't for the life of me remember what model they are but I will check and let you know.
They have 195mm of steerer I recall.
I'll check when I get home

Re: The hardest part of bikepacking?
What do you mean to look 'underneath' the RoW? Visits to view the LoS and other records? Just interested thats all. Thanks Nathan Naffa, I think Drew means that often an OS will show a BW as a green dash ... this may or may not exist on the ground. If the OS shows the green dash overlaid on small b...

Re: The hardest part of bikepacking?
In terms of OS maps and any right of way, I learnt a long time ago, by experience and advice fro others, to always look what was underneath the right of way. This applies to footpaths and bridal ways. The other aspect though, is actually, for many, the exploration of new tracks and trails is all par...

I just rub my legs clean as best I can then either put on some thermals or use a liner in the bag.

Re: Jones loop advice
I used silicon grips on the grips first and wrapped the rest of the loops with gel tape, I also included a couple of gel inserts underneath the tape at strategic locations. However, I found that I would get a numb little finger, so I have switched back to Ergon grips, seems to have sorted it out for...

Re: ventile jackets anyone?
Ventile is great, I used it quite abit when I worked in the outdoors in the woods etc with a nice open fire, still got a very nice jacket made by a company called West Winds, great company if you go down that route. The benefits are its breathable and very weatherproof, but effectively works but the...

Something like this inside the padded cell may add the impact/water protection plus some thermal insulation to boot
