Fantastic, much appreciated folks!. Ashamed to say that this is it's first outing, despite having bought it months ago.

Anyone got a contact number for ianb or Beth?

I've lost my instructions for fitting the mountain lion harness, and I remember I was pretty hopeless at it when I had the instructions in front of me! Planning a wee night under the stars tonight, so can anyone point me in their direction, or have instructions they could take a pic of for me?. I ha...

Bags for boiling?

Does anyone make their own food and boil it in the bag?. I don't really eat processed food, I'd rather cook my own food, whack it in a bag, then boil it in a bag. I reckon a standard zip lock bag wouldn't stand up to the heat in my alpkit ti mug and Whitebox combo. Sorry if this has been done before...

Aye, ridden with John a good few times, he's got an encyclopaedic knowledge of os78!. We're for doing the classic Drumlanrig-mennock-SUW to Wanlockhead-radar station-enterkine pass-Drumlanrig.

Should be decent conditions given the weather over the last week or so.

Cheeky monkey, no, I haven't used it, but it seems wee thought of over on the MBA forum.

Rude dog - thanks for that, I'm for riding in the lowthers this weekend, some great riding down there, but I don't know what it's like between there and moffat. One way to find out I suppose!.

Rudedog, did you do a write up for that trip? That's a ride I've often thought about, I've ridden a lot up in the
Lowthers, and would love to try and add in the SUW in both directions.

Barge pole, especially at a holiday like Easter. The problem with white Laggan is that the nitwits from dalmellington can reach it by motorbike.

Re: Anyone use Esbit cooking kit?

Cool, I'll get one of the wee folding solid fuel burners from fleabay instead, I dont really need it to boil water as the whitebox will be used for that, more for gentle cooking. Any ideas on a nice light alu pot for cooking and eating out of? Alpkit ti mug is just a bit too wee for my greedy portio...

Anyone use Esbit cooking kit?

I'm planning a wee 3 day bivvy trip soon, and already have a wee Whitebox stove and alpkit ti mug, but need something to complement them. Been looking at this - http://www.lovingoutdoors.co.uk/esbit-985ml-cookset-spirit-solid-fuel.html As I could mix and match the stuff together. Anyone used this, o...

Scary that this cake my better half cooked didn't get finished last week! Think everyone was being too polite. Pic taken on a wee snack stop descending off cat bells, the lakes.

Re: Are we *misunderstood ...

Yip, I'd imagine that if I announced at work that I was for cycling 10 miles up the river on a Thursday night, bedding down with no tent, eating super noodles and drinking a wee hip flask of bramble whisky (not all of it,obviously) 99% of the folks I work with would think me an outcast of some sort!...

Pricewise, around the sub 100 quid mark, and I'd like to try the 'bivvy a month' in 2013, so pretty cold!. Looking at a montane prism at the moment.

'down' type jacket for bivvying?

Alpkit filo is out of stock for a while, and I don't want to spend a fortune on one. Something packable and warm, not bothered about it being down or synthetic. Any suggestions?.

Thanks.
