Re: NC500

Place to visit - Smoo caves near Durness looks impressive. Also if the weather permits then Kervaig bothy near Cape Wrath is in an idyllic setting - on its own beach too. (You cant take vehicles across the crossing but could walk / get the minibus service part way). Could be an alternative to a camp...

Re: Pipedream sleeping bag anyone?

If you can find them instore, the Aldi down sleeping bag is now reduced to £20 (they are in the one in Radford - Nottingham) - not picked one up myself but for £20 could be a consideration.

Paired with a jacket it could be a Autumn / Spring bag.

Re: Sonder Camino AL

Reckon the differences are due to the fact the mechanical bike is a little more discounted in their sale looking at it. Plumped for the hydraulic version in any case, I think for stopping power and relative lack of maintenance re cable stretch it'll pan out better for me. Should be here within 10 da...

Re: Phone advice ;)

I've owned several Samsung Galaxy's (S3, S5 and S7 Edge) over the years and the IPhones never appealed to me. My S7 Edge is a great phone and developed an internal LCD crack which meant i had to send it back to Samsung meaning i would be without a phone for a couple of weeks. As the S7 uses a micro ...

Sonder Camino AL

Afternoon all, I'm looking at getting myself the Sonder Camino AL and wanted to gauge your collective opinions, i'm thinking either the: Sonder Camino Al Apex1 Mechanical [V2] - https://www.alpkit.com/sonder/bikes/sonder-camino-al-sram-apex1-mechanical-V2 or the Sonder Camino Al Apex1 Hydraulic [V2]...

Re: Gloves

For me a pair of liner gloves does the trick in all but the coldest of weather. Paired up with my fingerless mits they do a good job of keeping my hands warm and when wet are quick to dry. When really cold, those under a pair of full finger "spring / autumn" gloves i find as good as my ful...

Re: Northumberland Routes / Advice

Thanks both and for the links to the blogs - looks perfect for what I plan on doing.

Where did you park up in Stonehaugh - is there a car park that way?

Footprint under Bivi? Anyone use one? If so what do you use?

As per the title, do any of you use a footprint (a sheet of material etc) under your bivi? If so what do you use?

Will be using my bivi in anger for the first time next week and just had this thought.

Cheers,

Hayden.

Handlebar harness - using the Klickfix system

So i have a tour in the Highlands planned for next month and am hoping to go as lightweight as I dare. I already own the Carradice Super C handlebar bag (5l) with the Klickfix attachment. I already owned the Alpkit Kanga harness system however on the Audax bike it interferes with the handlebars and ...
