Re: cumulus or other?
That's really nice too Dean. Does it work to add warmth to another set up or is it too small?
Looks close to what I was looking for though (and a bit similar to the alpkit one)

That's quite interesting. Does it pack any smaller than the pics make it look?yourguitarhero wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:18 am I was out using my Alpkit Cloud Cover one the other night. Seems fine for summer? £100

Re: cumulus or other?
Yes, they look nice too.
I did consider converting my PhD minim into a quilt. But there's a very real chance I'd just ruin a sleeping bag!

cumulus or other?
Is there any other options in the UK for very minimal quilts?
I have an enigma 1 degree or similar quilt, in wide. Is there any other options for low pack volume quilts other than cumulus?
I should add, I am looking at 15 degree or warmer overnight temps for this one

Re: Geometry sizing advice
I have a 56 Arkose and a 58 Cutthroat*. Cutthroat is certainly a fair bit bigger and therefore has a shorter stem and stubby ish seatpost. I'm not a particularly flexible old fart though so I wanted the taller front end of the 58. *I also have a cutthroat for sale if you want a spin round the block ...

Re: What's your current dream bike?
Like some said earlier, I am reducing the number of bikes currently.
The dream bike thing comes to me wondering if I should just have one bike. If I did, it would likely be a Ti Chumba Sendero. Since we are in dreamland, it would have some sort of 3 speed hub that doesnt exist

Re: Anyone made a dropper-specific bag yet?
Apidura. But it's not very good. At least mine wasn't.
I now use a revelate terrapin. But add a piece of inner tube taped round the post. I lose about 70 to 75mm of drop.

Re: OCD Q: 3 bolt forks or not!
I personally try to only buy things I actually want and plan to keep for ever, or at least a very long time. Buying something I don't want (or with features I don't need) to please a potential future owner wouldn't even cross my mind That. See also; long steerers, hoses and cables. Just cut them to...

So commonly done that some nitto racks even come with rubber lined p clips.
As stu says, longer struts or p clips are all fine

Kador strip yep. It's attached.
You can get magnetic ones, where you need the two sided fig 8. And has long straps that throw over the van.
Or you can get an aluminium 1 sided 'female' ones that fit to the roof rail bolts. I had this, it was good.
