Re: Tour Divide 2019

Theres a few posts in her blog about her legs being her secret weapon and that climbing is her thing. read into that what you will, she's badass... (yes I'm smitten) I really enjoyed the dk xl post. just about gave in when someone finally had a spare pedal. At that point after knowing its over, to ...

Re: Bivi Bags

Ive managed to find an MSR ac bivi online. Waterproof 10,000hh base, 1,000hh top (so ok for a shower and dew) zip close mossie net but then relys on the overlap to close the rest of it. 420g Sized in between an hunka and hunka xl Had an older version whick was fine. This one is discontined too so wa...

Re: Full Mudgaurds?

Also, whilst browsing bikes / frames. There's a lot of bikes with rear mudgaurd mounts, but not front mounts.

I find this to be silly (I know its likely due to off the shelf fork selection rather than a design oversight)

Re: Full Mudgaurds?

Thanks chaps. My only bike that will take mudgaurds and decent sized tyres at the same time is my rigid mtb so thats the main candidate to get some gaurds. Though I am looking to swap my Salsa warbird for something with bigger clearances and slightly more relaxed geometry which would move that to th...

Full Mudgaurds?

OK, so yes some days I'm a bit soft and just dont want to be covered head to toe in crap and water. Does anyone use full mudgaurds with decent size tyres? Either on a cross/gravel/whatever bike or a full on mtb? And go mildly off road with them? Its probably a little early in the year but it is bloo...

Re: Tour Divide 2019

None of which are slowing him down...

No helmet. Interesting choice. Personally I would favor a helmet, but.... given he likely does more more miles in a month than I do in a year and isn't dead yet from lack of a helmet.... who am I to judge. Ride on SS

Re: Bivi Bags

Im back in the market for a bivi bag again so this has been useful. I generally have come to prefer my lunar solo as a good halfway between proper tent and a bivi. There has been times though where id rather the simplicity of a bivi bag on a single night trip though. Small pack size is also importan...

Most of my photo's are rubbish. This one probably is too, but I think it will remind me of a good trip so I like it. (thats the title after all)

Just rode the Tuscany trail on the latest Arch.

If you are a lightweight on narrow tyres I see no reason not to use the crest. My 2.35 looks nice on the arch mind.

Oof. Thats a biggie. Glad you've got through it and can work on recovery.

If it helps, I stubbed my toe earlier and it really f'ing hurt

Seriously though, chin up mate.. you'll be back on the bike before you know it. When it gets tough, just ask yourself what Alex Zanardi would do :-bd
