Re: 1000mile Plus Route discussions

I'm curious if anyone is prepping for anything like this currently? Ii would like to, but in reality this year I expect that my max's will be a little lower than this. I'd love to have a crack at some longer ones in the summer but lets see what the situation is. Currently, I am a little devoid of en...

Fun one today Bought something in Germany in December (in order to get it before Brexit) and thusly paid taxes etc. It didn't arrive and just got a note from UPS asking for the import taxes now. No idea where this leaves me, its not much so will likely just suck it up. How did you pay? I bought som...

Got out later. Mrs Perrin goes in a while afterwards @Reg, you share bath water, as in one after the other, you really do live in the 1970's  So do we - living on a private water supply that can dry up in summer means it's standard practice. Unfortunately the house wasn't set up with a separ...

Re: nice light tents for a giant?

i had a macpac microlight a lot of years ago. something similar would be vaguely exciting. Still got one of them, packs quite big. You can borrow it if you want to remind yourself whether its what you want. I used it predominantly as my motorcycle camping tent, but ive sold my motorbike for now I g...

Saddle rail one looks like the c shape is for the trace, so 90 degrees out of position.

I think I'll knock up something on the seat stay as you say up there

The curve on the Synmat tends to make it slip off. I've tried a short cord round it too but much the same result.
Little bits of furniture grip pads aren't too bad. Just had them on a pillow, they were self adhesive and stuck fine.

Exposure blaze mount?

Has anyone seen any alternative exposure blaze rear light mounts? I've looked on exposures website, nothing there. Basically I have a rear crud catcher thing which I switch between bikes and it clamps onto the seat post. One of these bikes has a dropper post. the standard mount then just about fits ...

Re: Taking a knife to a gunfight.

For something like the Tuscany trail id be tempted between that and a conventional rigid bike I did the TT on my drop bar'd mtb / monster cross / whatever bike last year and I'd do it again. So far I've ridden it on.....a fatbike, a carbon rigid 29er, a 29er hardtail, a rigid 29+ and now a 2.4" rig...

Re: Taking a knife to a gunfight.

I've got a gravel bike. But in reality it's just my road bike that shouldn't fall apart or cripple me if I chose to cut accross some tracks. I doubt id do a trip on it. I don't really like them off road. I also have a drop bar mountain bike, I do do trips on that. I need to spend more time on the se...

I only use it view OS maps around my location and pick where to go next / check where my current track goes off to..
On first look at the new app. It lets me do that, Tell's me I have all maps available for download included as I am a pro (nice of it)

So, looks ok for me. So far.

. Shame Maxxis have dropped all their 29 x 3" tyres. Chronicles are still availalable.
Thanks for correcting my statement. I believe the Chronicles are more "true" 29+ or proper 3" tyres and likely wouldn't work well at all on i30 mm rims. Just guessing.
I have done that and you a...

One of the best tents I’ve ever owned :-bd It's worked really well for me, in rough or nice weather. I didn't use it hot weather where it may be a little warm but I can deal w...

Fairly similar, quite big.

I have one of the universal giro helmets and am fairly far into its range. The Kask is a little big for me.

Seems quite round.

I know that's not very helpful sorry.
