Re: DTSwiss 350 vs Hope RS4

I've used both hope (earlier ones than you list) but DT350's seem to be cheaper and don't break so that's where my money has gone recently.

I know this is after the fact, but there you go

Re: The (fat) cat sat (slept) on the....?

I've heard of that failure. Some reports suggest that it's caused by over-inflation, possibly not helped by suddenly applying a point load (like sitting down too sharply). I had the baffle go on one of the Exped pillows in exactly that manner. As it happens, they are comfier if not over-inflated an...

Re: The (fat) cat sat (slept) on the....?

I've had too many syn mats fail now. They keep detaching on the inner webs and and just end up rolling me off the mat. That's interesting, not really heard of any fails with them until now. 3 in total. all the same failure mode. Internal baffle gives way, giant sausage follows rolling me off the ma...

Keep the chin up Richard. You seem to be coping and i'm impressed.

Really hope things keep trending to the better regardless of interim setbacks.

Keep at it!!

Re: The (fat) cat sat (slept) on the....?

I've had too many syn mats fail now. They keep detaching on the inner webs and and just end up rolling me off the mat. I currently have a vaude mat for when I want to be comfy. I dont know which one as the label was in finnish (synmat failed as I said). But its a little heavy but really comfy. Also ...

Re: Size up, or down?

Thanks again for all the thoughts and comments. Result, sized up. Popped on a slightly shorter stem and an inline seatpost. It feels a bit like there's a big bike under me but its really nice to ride. Get a look at all the room in that frame for a bag too  https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...

Re: Thinking SS...

I used to love riding SS but dont consider myself strong enough at the moment and dont have an SS frame just now. Im sure ill turn back to it one day. Anyway. I dont mind a sliding dropout, or a swinging one like on a salsa. Never had an ebb so cant comment. The sliders and swingers (not that sort) ...

Probable no wrong answer

Size up, or down?

When going for a new bike do you size up, or down? For years ive found myself between sizes on a lot of bikes. Generally ive sized up and adjusted fit slightly with stems and inline seatposts. Ive found this works well for me with mountain bikes. Im about to buy a gravel/granduro thing and planned t...

Help Me Choose Between?

So, I have had a cx bike for ages and it got used as a road bike which goes down a few trails. It's been commandeered by my middle boy and since hes riding it 3 days a week I'm not going to take it back from him. I have a road bike, which I dont like (uncomfy and not quite my size). So, new bike on ...
