I think if you already have the ability to ride for extended period, and are activly fighting the faff factor then the logical step at some point is to try to increase the pace. I would guess trying to do this in short steps would be key to ensure no loss of stamina? Personally, I need to nail down ...

I have a rab one, I like it. I have only used it a handful of times though. Temperature wise - it adds 'a bit' of warmth. Thats about as technical as I could get on the subject though. It wont turn a summer bag to a winter one thats for sure!

If I recall, some of the smoother DH pro level riders use Flow's as thier rim of choice. It would seem over kill for bikepacking? I am currently using crests fro the first time, they have seen about 600 miles I think and so far so good, the odd scuff but no problems. I also have a set of arch 26ers....

Though I would try to ressurect this a little. I tried running, I dont like it. I'm back in the area again now after the xmas break and keen to start putting in some miles. Looking at what you guys said up there, I dont suppose anybody has any gpx's of rides worthwhile in the area or fancies showing...

1st - Not really a resolution for this year but I really want to do the TD at some point.
