Re: how many?

I could never get used to the singlespeed thing. I tried it as I really like the look of the bikes and the non maintainence side but I like gears.

Now that I'm down to 2 bikes, for some reason I want another. Surly Krampus to be specific. I'm sure I'll resist for now

FS: Ti Frame, Sus Forks, Wheels, Stuff

Lots of stuff for sales. Litespeed OBED Ti Frame – Size ML (18” and 23.5” TT), Geared dropouts only. Well used but very nice still. Could easily be polished up very nice. (currently has a Crank Bros headset in, I can remove it or leave it in either way). £350 offers RS Reba RLT 120mm forks with qr15...

how many?

Out of sheer curiosity I was wondering how many bikes people own? Up until recently I owned 5. Hardtail XC Fuss Sus Trail Road Tour Another HT XC Since I had absolutely no room to keep all these and maintaining them all seemed to be costing me money. I often had some stored elsewhere and only rode t...

Alpkit 450 mug,
BearBones 10g Burner

Fuel is out of sight, as is a Ti spork from alpkit.

I've made brews and coffee on it, I'm tempted to see what else I can make on such a small stove

Techy Q - BB30

Does anyone have much experience of the BB30 system? Baiscally my shiney new frame is on its way in about a month. It has a BB30, 73mm Shell width. I have a shimano chainset, which I'd rather not change but I dont want to bodge it together. As far as I can tell bb30 adaptors are available for 68mm s...

Re: Tyre Pump

Like Ian I take a small pump
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=85211

Since I started riding without a camelback I have pared down the junk I carry. The pump is small and I hope I never have to use it !

I dont have 'fat' tyres though, just ordinary 2.0 / 2.1

Quite funny that. I like that you can see the line where the green starts.

Re: Paper Maps vs GPS

I like paper best for sure, I do however use GPS quite often when I want to move quickly. GPS only can sometimes leave you a bit reluctant to change and adapt your route based on what you find. I generally like to plot a route onto the gps which makes life easy but then if in no rush, I use the pape...

Re: What's wrong with me? (Ridiculous ride aspiration conten

I think you may get the message that you're not alone in these thoughts. I've spent quite a while dreaming about the 'one day' I'll do it rides / races. I've also spent a great deal of time (including right now) as a mediocre cyclist. I've also spent a while struggling to find the motivation though ...

Cheers for the feedback.
I had a little play last night. Using the same alpkit 8l dry bag I can just about get it to clear but had to move my brakes up.

Not ideal

Bar Harness / Bag

So, this weekend was the first time I have combined my trusty old revelate bar harness and my 29er bike. Considering the high forks inherent to 29ers, 100mm headtube, semi-integrated headset, not many spacers and a 0 degree stem I had some rubbage. Basically, as soon as the trails turned very steep ...
