Re: wtd, carradice saddlebag. larger the better

I have a Super C saddle bag and bagman qr, both fitted but unused as I realised that the bag is bigger than I can fit on my bike. Let me know if you're interested in either.

135mm SS wheel and 27.5+ rims

As part of a big clearout I need to shift some bits. First is this WTB laserdisc rim on wtb single duty hub. 135mm qr spacing - originally came with bolts but I don't think the threads are great so I have been using a qr instead, which I can include along with the bolts. The threads could be fixed i...

Free - Titec J-bars

Got a pair of Titec J bars I don't need, I doubt there is much demand for these since the On One Geoff bars came out so these can be had for the cost of postage.

Let me know if you want them.

Anyone good with trigger shifters?

The issue is with the shifter lever on an XTR SL-M980 10 speed shifter. I bought one second hand and there is a lot of play in the lever that shifts into easier gears. The lever can be wobbled up and down by at least 10mm. I'm hoping I can tighten something to sort this out because the lever feels w...

Re: Son hubs??

All dynamo hubs will feel sort of lumpy as you spin the axle in your hands, it's the magnets creating that resistance. My SON hub felt that way when I got it new. Of course you may have an issue with your bearings but it's unlikely with such a new hub and SON hubs are good. Apparently the wheel shou...

Re: Saddles; Any Brooks users?

I’ve started looking at other makes of saddle but haven’t found anything suitable for my arse yet. I have some very specific requirements due to a previous hamstring injury. I have seen that Selle Anatomica are making a similar rubber saddle, whether it suffers from the same issue as the C17 will r...

Re: Saddles; Any Brooks users?

I've had a b17 on my touring bike for a long time, really comfy after breaking it in but only after I got a seatpost with a lot of layback, the rails wouldn't let it go back far enough otherwise. I'm not sure that I would use it offroad, too much mud getting flung at it and my saddle did go mouldy j...

Re: Aero bars repair-of-sorts help

Evo stik is what I have used to glue sleeping mat into kayaks as padding, it gets wet and a lot of abuse and normally stays put.

Re: Any Kayaker's? Newbie tips wanted

Hi Rob, I've not paddled a tandem much so I imagine there is a bit of teamwork required with getting your paddle strokes in time. Other than that my top tips would be to make sure you are snug in the boat with your feet on the foot rests and ideally some padding around your hips, without this is eas...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Needed a mount to attach my dynamo light to the front of a truss fork, I wasn't keen to mount it on the bars as it'll get in the way of bar bags and generally make it less tidy. No mounts available that I could find so I made one myself out of an old crank arm. https://i.ibb.co/dBW6MLd/20190704-1724...

1. Jones 29er steel diamond frame with truss fork - vaguely exciting mountain bike, normally use it for bikepacking or longer offroad rides. 2. Jones 29er ti Spaceframe set up with 650b+ wheels - brilliant to ride, usually use it for shorter day rides 3. 80's Graham Weigh Road bike - I had it re-spr...

Thanks for the replies, I should've said I'm after paper maps because I don't do the GPS.

I'll bear the snow in mind, I'd rather avoid that so maybe I'll stay at lower altitudes.

Re: 650b+ Older Fargo

Sorry it's not a ranger I have on the front of my Jones it's a 3.0 Bridger, which measures 76mm on a 45mm id scraper rim, I've got a trailblazer on the back which is 67mm on a 40mm id scraper rim. I found this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cec5nxU8-A0 video where the guy measures a wtb ranger, might...

Re: 650b+ Older Fargo

I just converted a Jones 29er to 650b wheels, before I could only fit a 29x2.3 in the back but since the tyre is further back it's not easy to compare and will depend on your chainstay design. I used a WTB trailblazer 2.8 in the back which is designed to go in 29ers, it's got a slightly narrower tre...

WTD 27.5 rear wheel

Hi, I'm after a 27.5 rear wheel, ideally 135mm spaced but if there are adaptors available then I might be able to make it work. It's mostly to try out a wider 27.5 tyre on a 29er frame so doesn't need to be super fancy.

Let me know what you've got :-bd

76mm bcd 30tooth narrow wide chainring
Boost spacing
Basically unbranded as they were OE on a genesis tarn
