Re: WTD: Salsa El Mariachi XL frame

I have a complete 2014 XL, as pictured. Only change is the saddle and Maxxis Ardent tyres set up tubeless. I hadn't planned on selling it, but drop me a line if you are interested as it can't hurt to discuss it.

Re: drop bar width, how to decide?

I run a 46cm for off road, as I have a broad chest. I have tried narrower bars and it felt like it restricted my breathing.

Re: Anybody been ill after bikepacking

I run the Sea to Summit versions of these https://www.evanscycles.com/camelbak-podium-mud-cap-EV255315 for this very reason, modern bottles seem to be susceptible to collecting mud. Ive heard sheep poo on the trails can cause stomach upsets, best avoided. Also if anyone has read Tim Moore's Tour De ...

Salsa Cromoto grande 15mm through axle. I thought all these axle changes were pointless, but a 15mm through axle and these forks is a brilliant combo

Re: The price of stuff.

I just tend to buy second hand with frames and wheels, you can get stuff thats hardly used and at a fraction of the RRP.

I don't understand how anyone can justify £7500 on a bike. Not when that could buy you five. Five times the fun.

Re: After a recommendation for cheapish sleeping bags

I got my daughter a Mountain Warehouse one when she was 3, its a classic square shape and has camper vans printed all over it. She is now a tall 6 year old (130cm) and it still fits. She has never complained of being cold when camping, despite it not feeling that thick. Its been washed and is still ...

PSA Andrew the Maker, King cage drop cages

Andrew the maker over in the US has a small amount of King Cage drop cages (I understand they are exclusive to him). If you run a tangle style bag, these buy you a little extra space for larger bottles, as they lower the position of the cage.. I ordered two which came in at $51, so they are pretty p...

This was last weeks purchases. Jersey Gore Element, really nice, some great features. Shorts Endure Singletrack, lighter than the old ones, but a better fit for me. Answer 720mm wide bars for the Kona Ute, these will make steering when loaded a bit easier. Challenge Grifo 120Tpi for £12.99 from CRC ...
