Re: Kinesis Tripster
I've got a mk1 Ti. Absolutely love it. Run it with both 700 and 650's for more off road work and it's never missed a beat. Very comfortable and in 700 guise weighs in at 19lb. No problems with durability even after I stuffed it into a wooden fence post yesterday at close to 20mph. Bike came off bett...

Re: Do I 'need' a fat bike?
I picked one up recently and I'm hooked. Already have a 29er that also runs 3" 650's but have always been fat curious. Admittedly its a light fatty, 11kg. Its seriously fast, floats over stuff the 3" one rattled my teeth on. Only a fraction slower up hill but over the course of a ride its ...

shimano rings 105 chain rings (Brand new)
I've swapped out from 1x to 2x so have some Rival 1 parts to move on. Pictures are available and prices include posting. SRAM Rival 1 Hydro R left brake lever. A very minor scuff to the bottom of the lever and 2 small splits on the underside of the hood (doesn't affect performance and can be seen wh...

Re: SRAM mech compatability
Hux, I use 2 sets of wheels on the bike. A 650 gravel set using an 11 speed SRAM 10-42 and a 700c 11 speed Shimano 10-36.
Works great with both

Re: SRAM mech compatability
new rival 22 mech arrived today.
Fitted with (to be on the safe side) a road link. Works like a dream, silky smooth changes.
So it appears then it must be something to do with the chain line the Rival 1 doesn't like when trying to use a 2x up front.

Re: SRAM mech compatability
1x rear mechs sensitive to chainline? I believe so. I wonder if the narrow/wide upper jockey wheel on the 1x rear mechs causes problems? Other than that I can't see how it would make any difference having a double up front or a single! I couldn't work it out. Made no sense to me. Could be the jocke...

Re: SRAM mech compatability
Thanks guys. Rear mech and changer/brake/STI unit are original just added a new cable. Up front new changer/brake/STI unit (for double) new front mech and new double chainset. Yes, checked the cable and routing and that's all good. I spoke to SRAM technical this morning and the Rival 1 Rear mech won...

no, all drop bar, Hydro r levers. It was working perfecly before I swapped from a single front ring to a double. I also put in a new cable but I've checked that and its running fine.

SRAM mech compatability
I've just swapped from a sram rival 1 set up to a double front chainring, new front mech and shifter. I kept the original rear mech assuming it would be ok but rear shifting is appalling.
I can't see why it won't (shouldn't) work or is the 1x rear mech on some way exclusive to the 1x system?

Re: cumulus Clothing advice
I cant help with the inverse but I've got the previous version (from backcountry scott). I'm 42 chest and 32/34 waist. I always found the Rab too big and baggy, prefer a tighter fit in a down jacket. Mines a large and still enough room for a mid layer.
Love it (hoods huge though )

Re: These gps find your keys tracker things.
I've been looking at them recently. My dads got dementia has occasionally goes 'walk about' (and drive about...) The idea is to put one on his car keys as he never goes anywhere without them (creature of habit). The range on the bluetooth ones are the limiting factor. The GPS ones require a suscript...

Re: saddle to sit on not in..
Thanks guys. Sella looks nice but pricey and can't find one second hand. Picked up a brand new Ti Burgtec on eBay for £19
I'll give that a go then look for a sella if that doesn't work out.

saddle to sit on not in..
I've been using a Fizik Kurve on both my mtb and road bike. Despite appearances its the most comfortable saddle I've ever used by far. Unfortunately the carbon base has broken on each one within days of each other. Fizik have replace one (yet to have the conversation about the second) albeit with a ...
