I have a pair of them Sjs thumbie brackets in my spares . In use I actually preferred the position to Paul’s , but yeah 22.2
Actually have a set of gevenalle / retroshift with 9 speed dura ace levers for the project that has never happened!
I also did not get on with bar ends , have tried twice

Re: SS road bikes for touring
I think the first thing is to fully accept that you will be compromised 50% of the time. After accepting that fact, go and buy a SA kickback two speed hub ... it's almost like having gears but there's no shifters or cables, so no one will know :-bd This is exactly what I have on my ‘single speed’ r...

Have a pair of schwalbe snow stud 700x38 in the loft, used them once then decided could never be arsed fitting them again, if it’s Ivey or snowy I’ll go for a trail run instead. It’s just the odd day not months on end

My wife has an etsy shop selling vintage costume jewellery, good quality faux pearl necklaces are at least 80% of her sales!Cheddar Man wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:42 pmOr scrap the cycling theme and give her a lovely pearl necklace instead?

I never managed to visit the planet x store because whenever I was near it I could never park anywhere, so for me it was a stupid location. Hopefully the Alpkit store will be easier to visit as being able to see the bikes would be good.

Making me quite jealous , not had a bike to build for about 3 years now
Got a pretty light road frame and forks in the loft but last time I built it and road it I had a pretty decent crash so will probably leave it there

Not controversial at all...Dylan’s songs are better sung by anyone other than Dylan
Also Disturbed’s cover of Sound of Silence is better than the original, though that was obviously a red herring lryric

Often see people slag off the pole but in actual use mine has been fine, it’s a little flexible if you stand there flexing it which I don’t . After it survived the worst weather I’ve ever camped in for a night on Rum I don’t worry about it. How would a stiffer pole help?

Re: ‘Gravel’ bikes?
My steel (+ carbon forks) CX/Gravel bike weighs in about 20.75 lbs, I'd be surprised if a Fargo could get anywhere near that? It doesn't make me faster in any way but a nice lightish bike just feels nice to ride in some ways, lively. If I already had a Fargo I liked I would probably just use that th...

Re: Anyone ridden the Reiver Raid route? Any good?
Convoluted about sums it up when I looked at the route. I live there about and I’ve probably ridden most of it but not as a route. The way it goes through my village was nuts when I looked.
