Tweed valley jaunt
Went for a little ride last weekend for a WRT shakedown. left home at 16:00 on Saturday and landed in a pub at 15:00 ish the next day. Rode from Midlem (Selkirk way) to Broughton where I used to live by the most off road route taking in some of the classic Tweed valley views. Bowhill House http://i6...

Re: ROW in Ireland
Probably the best area for it though no where near where I lived. I wouldn't worry about the actual legality of a track unless it's right through a farmyard or something, it's not that kind of country. I think most if not all of the Wicklow way is cycleable (unofficially) though I never tried it. Tr...

Re: ROW in Ireland
I lived there for 11 years, gave up and moved to Scotland :)
Bit tricky I'm afraid and tracks often don't exist or have just become part of a field. Pretty hard work without local knowledge. Whereabouts in the Republic where you looking?

Re: Outer Hebrides
There is the machair path up the west coast of South Uist, not sure what most of it is like as I just rode a small bit in the middle one afternoon. The rest of Uist just seems to be a bog as soon as you step off a road.

Re: On One Inbred choice..
If you are worried about the weight difference between a medium and a large frame then the Inbred is not the frame you should be looking at anyway. Look at a scandal instead, same geo but lighter. I love my 853 Inbred but my brother's scandal rides almost as nice and and is quite a bit lighter

I've got a camo sdg bel air ti which is lovely and I thought would show the dirt less than my leopardskin one

Re: Welsh Ride Thing 2012
think i'll go for the crossmarks front and rear (2.25/2.1) then have a 2.25 ardent but never been convinced its any better than the 2.25 crossmark (which is much grippier than the 2.1 crossmark) So are we allowed to wear all our layers of riding clothes for the weigh in so they aren't packed, then s...

Re: Welsh Ride Thing 2012
What tyres are people running for this? Not knowing the area at all I am not sure, though most of my route should be on forest type tracks by the looks of it. Usually run 2.4 ardent front and 2.25 crossmark rear on the Inbred but thinking this might be hard work on the road links and . Have various ...

I think I perfer the excitment of whether a track actually exists / is rideable / is now a road / is now a meteorite crator the size of Salisburydo check them out on Google Earth.
