Yeah the silver blanket was an added safety item but you are right, unless i burn my sleeping bag down I won't need it :)
What sort of clothing do you guys take? Was thinking a hat and possibly gloves and some thermal bottoms/top.
need to add some toilet paper/shovel to the mix too :)

Rather like pedal head my rides are usually stolen around young kids duties or commuting based so rarely have to oppurtinity to just keep going and see what's round the next corner. Lookinforward to the wrt tho to change all that :)

Nice one flatfishy :) My father inlaw is a bit of a map man and has a shed load for the Black mountains and the surrounding areas, infact it wouldn't surprise me if he had them for the whole of Wales... I may have to speak nicely to him. 8-)

There's me thinking about making meths stoves and the like without first getting a mat sorted.. I didn't have one when we camped at builth wells for one of the merida's and had such a poor night, body heat just sapping away :D

Ok then, so I am compiling kit for the WRT as uitll more than likely be our first bivvy aswell as first WRT :) So I have a tarp (which also acts like a poncho if needed) Sleeping bag (3 season) and decided to get a garmin geko 301 to go with the maps and real compass as there was one really cheap on...

That looks nice, 150 notes for a sleeping bag virgin is a tad much! Any suggestions for a "testing the water " bag? I burn fairly hot but don't wanna freeze me nuts off :)
