Re: Wtd: Turbo trainer

Hi, I have an old Tacx Flow smart I want to sell. In Glasgow so not too far away if you were heading this way. One of these. https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/690890 Needs to be QR rear wheel, although I think you can buy bolt through convertors. That any use? Also have the "trainer tyres" in...

Re: HT550 Bridge out detour needed!

Hi,
This is the diversion from the "other ITT". One of my mates was in it.

Re: FS: Ibis Ripley Large

Best of luck with the sale FLV. I was looking for one of these before I got the v4s. Think yours is slightly lighter and has the cool Ibis head badge.

Best bike I've ever ridden totally love it. Did an overnighter which involved the Ben Lomond path!

Re: SOLD: MLD Trailstar and Ookworks nest

I know some people take the prices off these things once sold.

I'm curious though, how much were the Trailstar and oookworks nest on for if it's not a rude question?

Thanks, might give the Vittoria's a go then. I followed your cinturatto gravel h recommendation for the gravel bike and was really pleased with them.
Cheers,

Re: Puncture Protection

@Alpinum, of the ones you've used what do you rate?

I've been thinking about one for "lightweight rear tyre ht550" like duties. Still not sure though as they look like a right faff to get on.

Re: Sadly, It finally broke

That's interesting that the pole snapped. I'd always thought the tent would rip first (also lunar solo with BB pole). I've had the BB pole under my Trailstar in pretty high winds and it's survived (less worried about the Trailstar in wind too). Also - that's a nice offer Stu. Good to see you stand b...

Re: Anyone tried a bivvy here?

Think that Lennox castle. Not far from my house.

There's fencing round it but gaps you can get in if you're keen. Not bivvied there and a little too urban for me.

Re: Kit lust.

Thanks. It's 12 speed I'm using but I'm considering an XTR crank at some point so might look for one with a ring. I've got an XT crank from 2008 that's on my full suspension so I figure it's long term weight saving!

Re: Kit lust.

@jameso interesting you say the XTR chainrings. I've been "downgrading" to XT in my kit plans as they're steel.

Are the XTR ones really quite durable (for Aluminium)?

Large format laser fabric cutter

Thought this might be interesting to someone. Create a laser fabric cutter. Re: Pubs off tarmac

I'll get in before Scotroutes and say the pub/restaurant at Corrour station. It's lovely too.

They've got an Airbnb they run in the old station building that's worth a visit. Need to get the train in obviously!

Thanks Rich. Still not had time to have a fettle.

Discovered gaps at the end of the zips where the midge net doesn't cover! Got a bit of work to do.

Re: Sunny Tour of the Cairngorms

Good read and interesting chat, thanks all.

Planning a trip through the Minigaig with friends in a couple of weeks so all good info. I've experienced the path disappearing and been up to 912m so good to see that's still the right way to go.

Haven't got the rims but just thinking there must be some kind of diagram of people that have the rims and have problems. Maybe using multiple pictures of the rims overlapping? 😁

The shock absorbers look identical to the Morgaw saddle I bought years ago. Didn't get on with the shape so it's stuck in the garage somewhere.

<Edit> yeah, looks the same https://road.cc/content/review/186770-morgaw-trian

Re: OR Helium Bivy Door mod?

Be interested to see what you come up with. I've used some magnets I bought wrapped in silicon with a silicon tie between them. Two of them from the loops were better but it still sometimes worked loose overnight. I've thought about doing some other modding but not got round to it. One idea that had...

I use the exposure mount that clips on with zip ties to the front loop. Works well.
