Stu, where did you get it from and how much? This might be what I need to single speed in Scotland (Ian, I know you did the HTR, but I'm a wimp!)

Swithering over a PHD minimus in the last day of their sale

Not sure, got some overtime the other half said to spend on something nice. I'm very tempted by the Minim 250 (@ 3 degrees C) with the lightweight outer. At £171 it's over 60 quid cheaper than normal and I've heard so many good things about PHD stuff. http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/product_info.php?cat=...

Would also recommend nologo bikepacking (where the picture came from). I got a frame bag from Graham and he was great to deal with and very reasonably priced. Bag has stood up to quite a few trips with no ill effects.

I've got a mate with a brand new (taken off his new bike) pair of Mavic Crossride 29er wheels if you're interested.

Sorry, no experience or knowledge of the Fulcrums.

Re: Stove content ... I won't blame you if you don't look.

Nice idea for a cheap introduction to warm food in a bivvy! Slightly offtopic but I still have problems with meths (and I'm sure it's me as others don't seem to). When the stove gets going and blooms properly, putting the pot with water in it regularly seems to put it out. I'd thought it's maybe to ...

Ok, haven't got the quantities to hand so the weights are rough guesses: 70g cous cous 40g nuts (sunflower and pumpkin I usually use) 30g chopped apricots (sultanas also work ok) 1 spoon Swiss Bouillon stock powder (flavour and quantity, to taste) For the non-veggies a pepperami broken up (spicy is ...

Re: Tarp poles ... an update

In the ones with the "beak" what do you use to protect the tarp from the pole? Is the silnylon strong enough to cope with the pole tip? I'm still wanting one of these for a trailstar middle pole, probably just two domed ends and I'll maybe drill a hole to put a loop through it. How much wo...

Re: PHD new 'Wafer' range....

Had a quick look but didn't find anything on what temp it's aimed at. I'm wondering if they're going for the slimmer Rab style, not as warm but aimed more as a mid layer. Roughly the same price as the ultra pullover too. Be interested how durable the fabric is.

Re: water conundrum

Hi, I mainly go out in Scotland so purification isn't really an issue. I carry some water on my back in a camelbak (maybe 1-2 liters). I also carry a Platypus 2 litre bottle that I have rolled up in my pack and I'll fill it up at the last water source before I make camp. It fits in the side pocket o...

Re: Hello from Manchester

I've got a 456 Carbon too and I think a rack wouldn't do it any good. I'd also be careful of rubbing against the frame (as a framebag or a bar bag might do) as carbon isn't particularly abrasion resistant. I've covered most of my frame in heli-tape (thereby reducing the weight advantage :D ). Having...

Re: A poll ... shelters

Tarp and bivvy, although the tarp is regularly a Trailstar so not sure if that counts. I like the idea that i can just climb into the bivvy bag if I don't want to set everything up. I never do, but then again the trailstar was expensive :).

Re: Wildcat Tiger on a full suspension

I think you could change the air can to let it ramp up more but I've enough faffing before a trip as it is! I wonder if Wildcat might do a "slim" version that will cinch down further than the standard one. Anyway, I think the main answer to my question is "be a bit careful with the pa...

Re: Wildcat Tiger on a full suspension

Thanks guys. Yeah I'd put a bit more air in the shock. It was more that it had to be cinched as tight as it would go with the saddle pretty high to prevent the rub. I suppose that's hard to avoid.

Good idea on the extra material, will bear that in mind.

Wildcat Tiger on a full suspension

Hi, Was wondering if anyone is using a Wildcat Tiger with a full sus? I borrowed a friends bag he bought from Pawel for a trip but it could occasionally get rubbed by the back tyre. It worked if the saddle was high and it was cinched as tight as possible but I'd like to know what room I have to play...

What you thinking on adjustable length, extra section or did you get anywhere with the telescoping bit?

I like the simple telescoping bit. Far too wide though but thought you might be interested.
