Re: Cheap digital compact camera recommendations anyone?
Just spotted Jessops have a may bank holiday deal on a Nikon Coolpix L26 for £59.99, that's under 1/2 price, that is now the frontrunner.

Cheap digital compact camera recommendations anyone?
I'm after a cheap ( £75 max) digital compact camera for bikepacking use. The camera I have is a bit bulky and I have to carry it in my backpack. This means I don't take as many photo's as I probably would because I have to get off the bike, take off the backpack and then remove the camera from the p...

Re: The post man's been ...
Still look wierd but feel great, think I got the position of them near enough right straight away, should have bought these first time instead of the fleegle's, oh well. Not sure about the colour though, definatley magenta, not red, but it's the shape that counts, not the colour. :)

Just arrived, new On One Mary bars in anodised red (looked much redder on their site) for £15.49 inc P&P. Now going for a ride to see if i like them better than the Fleegle pro's. They look wierd.

Weight loss for weight weenies!
This idea for weight loss was completely accidental. On several occasions one of the bolts on my multi tool has come loose and i've just re-tightened it. However, on my recent West Highland Way trip I had the tool in a pocket in my baggies and both bolts loosened up and the whole thing came apart. I...

Re: BB5 or BB7
I currently run an Avid Elixir R on the front and I like it but as i've mentioned somewhere else on here I can't have the lever set to the angle I like because when I strap a drybag under the bars it forces the brake hose into an extreme angle where it exits the brake body and i just know the hose w...

Re: BB5 or BB7
It's interesting to hear that Avid speed dial levers make a big difference as I was unsure as to wether to buy them as well as the calipers but on reading that I think I will go for a complete set up.

Pie or pasty with pint of milk to consume straight away (Unless you know what your buying then in my experience beware of pies and pasties, called bridies, in Scotland, some of them are not very nice at all, sorry if i have upset any Scottish folk). Bannanas and oat bars are a must for me, then appl...

Just wondering what the main differences between a BB5 and BB7 brake are and is the BB7 worth the extra money?

It's just an idea and i've read that balloon beds are rubbish so it might not work but could you inflate a couple of balloons inside a dry bag. Be light and you already carry a drybag. :?:

Re: The Cathar Trail - Anyone Got Any Info
My very limited expereience of putting a bike on a train in France was 25 years ago, I wasn't to know it but my bike didn't travel on the same train as me and turned up three days later. I later found out that they saved bikes up until they had enough to make it worth their while and then loaded the...

I got the Terra Nova Comp 1 from field and trek for £40 and am very happy with it. It's size and shape limit it to a few basic set up's but how many do you actually need.

The West Highland Way.
The start was delayed by 2 hours due to heavy sleet and snow falling which luckily did not lie. The forcaste said things would improve as I went west and indeed I cannot complain about the weather I recieved. Cycling along the canals was easy going through pleasant countryside and I arrived at Milng...

Re: Bivvy bag + rain = wet
I read somewhere that a bivi bag needs to have a flow of air over it in order for it to breath properly. If it's wet on the outside then I think this would reduce it's breathability and the damp inside would be condensation. Would this make sense?
