Re: Damage to carbon frame

If you look through my history Chris you'll notice that I took a hammer and dremel to mine and a couple of carbon blades... Couldn't actually break it properly (Sonder Transmitter carbon which was at about 1100g for the frame) and ended up giving up. You'd be surprised how strong these things are I...

Re: Pumps

I got some of those valve caps that also have a slot to tighten cores. One on each bike. That and a pump that's not Lezyne have worked well for me.

It's a shame because the Lezynes are lovely bits of kit, well built, light, durable etc etc but just lost faith. Shame :|

Experienced the tedious bollox of Lezyne and its inability to inflate myself.

Jameso recommend an Evans own brand FWE pump (sorry, vague). It's small and effective so :-bd

Aye. :hand up:

It's been an education this place and I'm grateful for it. Fires in particular have been a revelation.

But if you're going to give up because you cant convince the dumb-arses that can't be convinced then you're not the man I know and love 😎

Re: I give up.

I'm always a bit surprised at ebikes for overnighters, simply because I thought they had a limited range, would be a heavy pig when "dead" and the general shortage of plug sockets for charging in the "great outdoors". I was told this a few weeks ago by a shop owner and it makes you reconsider and e...

Slightly aside, isn't it in the Bothy Code or just general best practice not to camp at bothies? Re: Bluetooth headphones

Unless you have apple shaped ears (fnar!) I'm not surprised the fit was less than stellar. Most Taotronics come with hooks and fins and so long as you are not a completely over sensitive weirdo you can usually get a good, locked in and comfy fit. Plus a lot of TT ones are two buds linked by a cable....

Re: Bluetooth headphones

Branded - Powerbeats (earphones connected to each other by a wire round the back of the neck) or the Pro versions (each ear is a separate bud and can be used individually or as a pair). Only downside is a big-ass case but it also doubles as a battery and you can get many hours playback out of them. ...

A lovely Thomson layback from the IoW / Sean.

What a shame I am an absolute donkey and have got my seatpost sizes confused  Fireline takes 31.6 whilst the post is 30.9 (as advertised, of course).

Somebody in this transaction is a right plonka, and it's not Sean    .

Re: Wet Gear Query

Outdry here too. They're not a cycling cut, unfortunately, but I can live with it as do others. Go for a model with pit zips if you fear overheating and are a sweaty beast. The breathability "flaw" of the fabrics is more than made up for by its durability and not needing to maintain a DWR. I seem to...
