Worse ways to go but hey, RIP Cynthia.
Today can take a long walk off a short pier as far as I'm concerned but good stories about nice things are grand to see, especially dog ones (ta Stu).

IME Rigger boots are rubbish, it's the big, unelasticated opening that allows most warmth to ventilate. Rubber wellies are also remarkably cold, although a good insole can help, a bit. Warmest thing like this IME is neoprene wellies. Lomo do a more affordable version with a boat orientated (so not t...

Re: Never legal to wildcamp on Dartmoor?
Nice to see that they draw this distinction: All present at the meeting were clear that there is no place for illegal fly camping on Dartmoor. ‘Fly camping’, which often involves large groups with barbecues or open fires, should not be confused with true wild camping and will continue to be prohibi...

A current AW22 Montane Prism jacket at 50% off in a sale and I'm really impressed. Always liked Montane kit but the current Prism really is excellent. The hood design and generous arm length in particular (arms longer than the size M Fireball I bought a few yrs ago, my go-to bikepacking trip jacket...

Arrived today. Sadly not the "Pro" pack but the "Pro Trail" version. Some small (but important differences, AFAIC). Sending back on their dime. Hey ho  EDIT - fair play the differences are pretty hard to spot from the description and images. Reminds meof trying to tell the ...

The whole PX rep thing is a lottery. I had a baggy seat post on a frame and they exchanged with no quibble. Shouldn't have happened but resolved well. Bought the Gildrush off.them.and it was.a.breeze, great bike, accommodated mods etc etc. If you're getting a good deal Iwouldnt hesitate to use them.

There's some fairly cheap Lowe Airzone pro 35:45 rucksacks in Black's sale at the moment. I think Dave / Northwind uses one. Certainly looked good gear during the packraft trip we had to Crummock water. About £65. You seem to save fiver if you pick the one with orange detailing :???: https://www.bla...

Am I alone in never having used a dedicated GPS unit? My phone with OS mapping does everything that I would want a GPS unit to do, the screen is better than most GPS units, and I'm carrying it with me anyway. ... I haven't bought anything from Superstar in ages but their website and (early?) customer service was sometimes a bit problematic.
