Re: who rides Ti ?
I have a Ti camino that I run both 700c and 650b and a Lynskey  MT29 that I bought 2nd hand 3 years ago and is my main bikepacking bike. If money is no object check out Seven Cycles. Handmade in the US and the quality of the welding is amazing. Google 'seven cycles welding' and youll see what...

Re: Be careful out there
The bike  2 buckled wheels , scuffed lever and trashed bar tape. I think her body took most of the impact. The branch was almost parallel with the verge just slightly on the piss so the front wheel was whipped from under her and she was down. Shes doing ok, just got a 2nd night in hospital and...

Just spoke to the guy who found her in the road and he didn't see her till the last minute so it could have been a lot worse. She was ve...

Be careful out there
Be careful out there folks in the dark. Partner is currently in A&E after going out early this morning for a quick blast and hit a sizeable branch in the road resulting in suspected broken collar bone, pelvic and head injuries. She was probably travelling 25mph+ downhill and was found in the middle ...

All the Ospreys will have buggered off back to Africa now i think. They usually leave by mid Sept. The Dyfi pair should be back mid to late april iirc. Watched Monty the male fishing behind the Cob a few years back a week after he'd arrived back.

There is a tap at the rear of the church in Thursley, go round the left side. I was on empty so was a good find.
There is another 1 round the back of The Bustard Inn on Salisbury Plain which hasnt been a pub for 12years. Its now a church and charity. Tap is by the back door and they didnt mind

Re: King Alfreds Way.
Intending to ride KAW this weekend, work allowing. Will test James's statement that it's a comfortable 2 day ride. This is a cracking route. If you keep moving 2days should be achievable. Starting off route at Calne we did 250miles 28hrs moving. Loads of bivi spots. Definitely a 29er route over a g...

Re: No wonder we went metric.
IIRC from the documentry the mechanic responsible for this near tragedy had trudged his way across the yard to a dimly lit shed, shoved his hand in a box of bolts and thought 'aah they look the same'!
Look at the investigation.

Argyll trail with a few extensions & a spin over to Mull maybe?? That would be 5-600+ miles. Definitely not dull!

Re: FS - Singular Swift with Alfine11 (punting sale of bike in need of love)
I have a Swift with an alfine 11 and its ace. When I had it 3x9 it had toured in France, been across Spain with Duncan and round the Cairngorms etc. Brilliant bike. I have a set of rigid forks if anyone is interested in them to go with the OP's bike https://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopi...

Re: HT550 over 7 riding days
I had a 'pootle' round the route in perfect conditions in 2018 although it was bloody hot. Set off on the weds before the mass start and did it in 7days 7hours. Plan was to enjoy the route and see all the places i hadnt seen before so no night riding. I started at 9am the 1st day then it was 7-7.30 ...

Normally wear my old shimano mw80s but went to put them on the other day and they've vanished
