Re: Rear light?

Just put my Cateye Wearable X through the washing machine by accident and it still works, which is a pretty good recommendation. It's great for clipping onto seatpacks as it has a lip that makes it virtually impossible to just fall off. I often clip it upside down to the bottom of a jersey and it's ...

I have at least one possibly two black Velocity Blunt 29er rims, but they are well used. Cheap though if you want one! Can't help on the posh front hub.

Re: Moving to soton for a new job, any bears in the area?

A bit further away, I'm in North Dorset, but I tend to ride east into the New Forest quite often as its way flatter and significantly less claggy than my other options. I've been riding on my own so much this year I've almost forgotten what group rides are like. I might even resurrect the SS K...

Re: Anyone any experience of 'non shocker' version of USE/Ultimate seatposts?

I'd have thought a 27.2 post would be lighter than a 31.6, even with a shim. I always thought this but I remember being surprised my 31.6 Thomson post was lighter than the same model/length I had in 27.2, something to do with wall thickness and strength with a larger diameter? Wasn't much in it min...

Re: Anyone any experience of 'non shocker' version of USE/Ultimate seatposts?

I have one of those in 27.2 diam, on a road bike. I previously had a version of the Canyon two-part leaf spring carbon post which I was underwhelmed by, and the USE carbon one with about 15cm out of the frame doesn't ride particularly harshly and is half the weight. I did get it on a bargain special...

That was the word I was looking for 'Superstar'... how longs that chainring been going for please Dyffers  Only a couple hundred miles in the last two years or so; it lives on my 'big' bike which only sees occasional use but did get moved across to the XC bike for the BB200 but I never made ...

I see they now also do a 30t 104 ring - uhm :geek:
My superstar 30t non-oval ring is spaced out from the spider to allow the chain to fit inbetween the ring and the arms. How oval is oval ie how much less diameter is the narrower width than a round ring? A mm or two probably still works. :geek:

Re: Aerobar risers?

If you haven't already bought the Pros, go for Zipp Vuka instead; the most adjustable clip-on aero bars and you can buy riser kits for 10mm, 25mm and 50mm.

Is it just sticking to the road between Bwlch and Harbour past Cloggau?
Pretty much Paul. Just stick to the road and bypass the BW that joins the road via the farm.

I shall email out a detour that bypasses the BW that runs through Dreavour Farm. Obviously, you are quite within your rights to be there but doing this helps keep the peace. Re: Exposure bar mount. Upside down?

Have run two versions of the Strada and a Mk7 Joystick fitted 'upside down' underneath bars for years, especially on the road bikes.

The display on the rear of the Strada flips so the text is the right way up, which tells me Exposure expect people to mount them either way.

The thing I found with drops was I wanted to use the widest part when off-road...but that's not where the brakes are. On luxys I found myself cruising along the road sections on the 660 wide drops, then having to go into superman stretched narrow position on anything you technical to cover the lever...

An XT Di2 rear mech (with Ultegra shifters) on a road bike on which I wanted a wider range cassette. I'll be damned if I'm submerging it in water and smashing it of rocks on a MTB!
