Re: Replacement Scandal v2 dropout bolts

If they are chainring bolts, you can get a cheap pressed metal tool to engage the non-hex side.

...adventurous XC trips... That reminded me of the other thing an electric rear mech is great for: a tandem, avoiding the super-long cable run and associated friction. I chucked my spare XT Di2 mech and some Ultegra shifters (cable disc brakes for some hypocrisy ) on the tandem me and my daugh...

Re: Retrogrouching (new XTR content)

I like my 11spd cabled Di2. I really like that I can trim the mechs with a button press, don't go out of alignment whilst riding, the MTB junction box that displays gear, being able to fit TT barend shifters extra to my dropbar shifter in seconds with a plug in, removing the rear mech for suitcase t...

Indeed. I'm staying local the day before so might sign on Saturday afternoon. I'll be able relax in the evening whilst ziptieing that all important race number in the right place.

I've used my trail runners and flat pedals for bikepacking for years. Are these running shoes with SPD cleat fittings? If not, what's different?

The 19 year old on his enduro bike is either going to have a great time or an awful time, but probably a good story.

Not sure if this thread is still 'active', but I'm doing a few days of solo Munro-bagging mid-June and my better half is getting anxious that I'm going to throw myself down a gully and never be found again. Does anyone have a tracker with subscription I can 'rent' from them for a couple of weeks? Th...

Re: Best bikepacking bike?

I did also remember a bike that inspired a change of frame and outlook for me: https://www.windoverbikes.co.uk/beacon It has what I can only describe as 'southern downland' / xc geometry, something I do a lot of here. Might also be a flat bar only gravel bike, as it only takes a short rigid or grav...

Bag or pants?!

TL:DR: will insulated trousers (and the jacket I already use) give me enough of a boost to be comfortable enough in a summer weight sleeping bag at near freezing temps? Last week I donated my good sleeping bag to my daughter for the two nights on WRT, and toughed it out my my 'race' bag (comfort rat...

Another thank you from the tandem team, especially from my super-stoker Alice who loved her Singular t-shirt at the start (wore it day and night for the whole weekend), and won't stop talking about how she loves Dee and the dogs at the end. :-bd

The basic fold is quite quick but not into a neat unit for carrying as is without a bag or case, as the steerer and bars are no longer attached.

There were at least three others in the queue for mine on LFGSS. Maybe try on there if you're willing to post it (although it seems to be less and less London-centric on there now).

Thread resurrection...I finally got my hands on a Bike Friday after about two years of searching; a bloke on LFGSS bought one I was watching on ebay (too far away for me to collect anyway), then bought a Brompton G-line instead and sold the BF on to me. :-bd So far it's been stripped, checked and my...

Yes, mine is the 19/15" in order to get the daughter on it, hence the monster stack of steerer spacers as I'm 187cm tall.

If it's the smaller size my 142cm tall ten year old daughter can ride ours (and will be at WRT with me on it next week) but not enough room for the suspension post.

What's the Welsh Black Inn pub like at Bow Street? I've got my daughter with me this year so pub for dinner is a must, as now is ice cream on the beach Sunday morning.
