Re: U-clips?!

I'd thought of that but it wouldn't quite work. It's to join two already looped & stitched pieces of webbing, replacing a broken swivelly snap hook on a laptop rucksack strap. It's the kind of thing I could bodge with a zip tie, but those clips look like a more elegant solution and would get the...

U-clips?!

Not strictly a 'Wanted' but thought it might be better in here than the classifieds I'm trying to get a hold of something like one of Gossamer Gear's replacement U-clips: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1300/6549/products/Clip_1024x1024.jpg But I can't find them in the UK, can't find an equivalent...

Re: waterproof trousers ?

I just use windproof ones - Montane Featherlites - to keep the chill off. Surprisingly effective. I have a set of Kamleikas as well, but the Featherlites get used more often. Also have the Endura Superlight waterproof shorts, but have to wear them with braces otherwise I get a builder's ass and a cr...

Re: Scotland - General XC / Trail Trip Question

If you head for Dumfries, you've more than just that lot you've listed. Mabie, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree and Forest of Ae are all easily accessible 7 Stanes centres from there, Newcastleton and Kielder aren't a million miles away, and closer to home Drumlanrig has some good trails as well. The Lakes ...

I'm clocking off early to go kayaking for the weekend, only my third weekend of not working on events since May. Driving to Hexham for Chinese and beers tonight; paddling the Tyne followed by more beers and a ceilidh tomorrow, paddling the Tees and driving home Sunday.

Re: Exposure Support Cell

I bought a couple of Support Cells a while back, the bracket and strap sit on the back of a helmet pretty well, so you shouldn't just have to velcro through a vent. Mine have either gone on the back of my helmet to hook to a Joystick or strapped round my stem to clip into an Equinox on the bars.

The north west area - South Manchester, Cheshire, Liverpool, North Wales, Welsh Border s Chester is 153 miles from Scotland so therefore not in the northwest or even the North for that matter. Unless there's been a recent annexation of Cumbria, Lancashire and Merseyside. Others have said it, but ag...

Re: Is it an adventure bike....?

OP after all this prevarication I think you'd be mad not to buy that Gryphon. You won't find anything near that quality for the price. The qualms you're raising about bar angles etc are nonsense tbh - you'd be tuned into the riding position within half an hour. Seconded. If I didn't already have my...

Re: Which mechanical discs for drop bar set up

I found that decent cable housings did make a minor-but-noticeable difference, both on the BB7s I used to run and on the current set of Spyres. I've tended to grab Goodridge compressionless outer from CRC, not that much more expensive than anything else when you're buying by the metre.

Re: Is it an adventure bike....?

Oooooooh, well now. That's interesting... Question is, will I / the bike fit? Plus I'd have to sort the gearing out. Don't think 8 speed would really cover the range I'm after. I don't know about fit, I've never met you or the seller. It's a medium, which tends to fit 70-percent of people! 8-speed ...
