Just been in Go Outdoors collecting some last minute bits before M&B. Spotted Memory Map maps starting at £25 on sale. I think central England and Wales were £25/ea worth a look in store if your interested.

Re: Terra Nova Tarp Spec.
Tarp arrived today, in time to test it out over the weekend :) For anyone ele interested, The Comp 2 tarp from Field and Trek weighs 520g and packs reasonably small. 2.5 x 3.0m in size should give me loads of options, dare I say it, maybe even sharing  Came the next day to which was excellent...

Looking for a rain cover I came across this: http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/talon-22-s-m-p178581
in S/M its £35 You wont find them cheaper at any other time, I thought I got a bargain!
Just make sure the S/M size suits your back.

Where do you find them clips? they look like just the ticket.
Good point about the ridgeline, can probably do without. Like the look of that set-up. I have a 2.5x3m to play around with so that will be nice.

Re: Another M&B Accomodation Query...?
Were going to leave Bristol around 0530 Sat morn  Going to need an early night on Saturday! G I'll be leaving about 6.15 from Brizzle too, swinging by Chepstow to pick up somebody else. Long old drive. I have been getting up at 0500 every day this week (and next) driving to Macclesfield (and b...

Re: Terra Nova Tarp Spec.
Ordered the comp 2 tarp from F&T in the end. Quick question regarding lines etc. What do you guys (no pun) usually carry? I was thinking 5mm ridge line 10m long? then just 4 standard guys with runners. Got spare pegs here thinking 6 should do it. I probably wont get time to pitch it until Mach &...

Re: Accomodation in Mach
Good find.
I particularly like "prices from £20-£24PPPN inc Breakfast" :D
Only 2 miles from Mach and we love Aberdyfi anyway so it should be fine, Thanks, I should have looked further afield!

Re: Another M&B Accomodation Query...?
Having spent a lot of time wildcamping with my Land Rover in various parts of Wales, Im sure you could find somewhere suitable on the west side of Llyn Clywedog or Hafren Forest. 15km South of the start it wont take you long to get there on Saturday ;) Even easier if you dont have a tent. Pull over ...

Accomodation in Mach
Girlfriend is coming up for the M&B and she needs somewhere to stay on Saturday night (While we are all out in the lashing rain and hurricane winds in plastic bags). Mach looks like the best place to keep her entertained Saturday after we all set off, can anybody reccomend accomodation? Looked a...

These were next to me in the queue whilst I was waiting to pay so I thought I'd try them on, Blimey charlie they're warm. http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/rab-endurance-down-mitt-p190296 I struggled with my conscious and stopped short of lashing the cash as it's never really that cold in the UK. OR IS I...

Re: Think I want a packraft.
Funny you mention packrafts. Its how I found out about Bikepacking and this place/events :) I follow the Adventure Journal and there was an ace video of some guys on Fat Bikes (Surly?) carrying Alpacka rafts heading up the Alaskan coastline. It looked epic. Also heard talks buy Alistair Humphries (I...

It's not me giving the pedicure though. Funny, because there is a fishy pedicure place in the galleries (Bristol) It all makes sense now. Treated myself to a Osprey Talon 22 yesterday and blagged a pair of goretex shorts from the numpties in Halfrauds for £30! Go Outdoors boxing day s...

Re: Kit list ... Mach' N Back.
Mountain Equipment Titan 850 bag You'll be plenty warm in that bag, I used mine on the winter bivi last year and I was sweating at -10*c with a thin layer of clothing. Tarp and wooded area will do the job of seeing off any wind and rain in conjunction of a bivi bag. Make sure the bivi bag allows th...

Re: Kit list ... Mach' N Back.
Well the weather has gone mild, but will it last? :? Mountain Equipment Titan 850 bag Trekmates Bivi a tarp (yet to be bought!) If its really windy and raining I will be bringing the Vaude Taurus UL tent. Not decided on stove yet, see if its cold enough. Primus 1L etastove if it is, along with 800ca...

Re: Washing E-vent question?
A quick note on the TX-Direct.
I was once told not to use the wash-in stuff as it has the potential to coat both sides of the fabric reducing breathability. How true this is I do not know! Makes some sense to me, so now I just use the spray on as it gives the user more control.
Food for thought.

Terra Nova Tarp Spec.
Evening all, New to the bikepacking scene but familiar with bikes, backpacking and camping ;) Entered the Mach N Back and looking to get a tarp. Quite like the look of the Terra Nova tarps and Field and Trek seem the cheapest, but I am confused by the specs! and the TN website is just as unhelpfull....

Points recieved and plotted on Memory Map :D
Tweaking route using profile to see which has the least height gain! So far got all the GR's in place.
862 004 seems a little strange though.
